Vehicle Detail

I am the second owner of this 1967 VW convertible since 1978. It has always been a New Mexico car - Land of Enchantment and Land of no rust! This is uncompleted pan off restoration project that was started 20 years ago. Every year goes by and I kid myself that I'm going to finish this project. However, last year I made a lot of progress towards that end. The amazing thing about this car is that it is almost 100% complete with the original parts! Besides the list of parts below of what is missing, every other screw, light, handle, bolt, nut, glass, tires & wheels, seats, gauges etc. etc. are there. I even have the original jack! And yes, I have the cool back-up lights. The electrical harness is still installed and original. Every part (nuts and bolts included) that was touched on the re-assemble, was thoroughly cleaned, lubed, painted and carefully re-installed. This is the best, most sought after year and model of all VW's (except the first year)!!! Here what was done last fall: Rebuilt 1300 cc engine with new parts including; Clutch, wires, belts, hoses, rings, gaskets, pistons, condenser and plugs. Perfectly balanced pistons. Obviously 0 miles on the engine. New break system including; Master cylinder, all new lines, drums, pistons, shoes, cables, hoses. New shocks (4) Rebuilt front end. Minor body work.New clutch cable.New foot petals w/cables.New hand break w/cables.Painted, greased steering column. Lots of extra parts come with the car. In the past, the pan was replaced and treated with coating. New running rails (support beams) were installed. New nose was perfectly cut off and replaced original damaged nose. Here's what is missing: Front glass Hood A few chrome molding pieces. Convertible top - frame and original wood on, or with the car. Carpet and new door panels to make it new like. Original panels included. This car can be shipped, but, it would be better if picked up. In order to ship I would need to install the engine or crate it, not a big deal, just saying. This is a fantastic car to restore to original condition because it is almost 100% there. It is straight and has no rust. A great father - son/daughter project car. I have spent 100's and 100's of man hours and thousands of dollars on this restorations that I know I will never complete. You complete it and get a great classic valuable car. I sell it and get my garage space back, and I get to quit kidding myself that I'm ever going to complete this project.
