You are bidding on one of the most beautiful and fun-to-drive vehicles ever made. It is a RUST FREE vehicle that has lived its entire life in California and Arizona, except for the past year which has been in Oregon. This Mercedes SL Convertible has all the luxury options of its class. It has been lovingly maintained. Two years ago 2K were spent to reseal the engine and transmission so that there would be no drips. This year, another 2K was spent to to get the car finely tuned and to replace the old climate control. The AC has always blown cold. The car drives wonderfully--just as it should. Engine, transmission, brakes, tires, steering, and electrical all are in fine shape. I would not hesitate to drive it cross country. Perhaps the finest feature of the car to me is the paint which is a platinum/gold color that is quite attractive. It was repainted a few years ago by the previous owner, and it was a very nice job indeed, as I think the pictures reveal. My MB mechanic calls it "champagne." The interior, as you can see, looks quite new. The dash does have some cracks from the Arizona sun, but the cover as you can see, covers those. For a vehicle this old, I think it unlikely you would find a finer one. Overall, it appears near showroom. There is though a small once inch sratch on the passengers door and an abrasion of similar size in the rear upholstery. The only thing I can think of that would benefit the car would be a new canvas top. The canvas, from so much time in Arizona, is dry and cracking. The hard top looks just like new. It has a very nice new CD player. I have enjoyed very much driving this mercedes. The acceleration and handling is amazing. And it is a head turner. Unfortunatlely, I now must sell off half of my car collection, and so I am putting this up for auction. I need the space soon, so I am selling it at NO RESERVE.
