Original paint & interior. 49,000 original miles!! After searching for over 3 years, I purchased this beautiful Mustang in San Luis Obispo, CA in 2003. The car was bought new and lightly used in San Luis Obispo for 10 years, having racked up only about 39,000 miles. Shortly after purchasing the car, I replaced the radiator and added the following: a CARB-certified Vortech 5lb Supercharger, Auburn limited-slip differential with 3.73 gears, stainless steel Magnaflow exhaust. Californians: This car has passed and will pass California emissions!! CLEAN CARFAX A note about the modifications: This car was not built to race or be thrashed on the street. All modifiactions were performed by a Mustang specialist in Ontario, CA who I have known for 15 years. I chose the 5lb Vortech blower because it would not stress the stock internals of the totally original 5.0L block & heads. It just bumped up the power to more modern, fun standards. The car makes +- 285hp to the rear wheels and is just about perfect for this chassis. I have owned more powerful Mustangs but the extra torque really beats up the body structure. The supercharger & all modifications save for the chassis bracing are installed in such a way that the car can be returned to stock with no trace that they had ever been there. The nicest thing about this car is how tight the chassis is. Maximum Motorsports is located in San Louis Obispo where the car spent it’s first 10 years and this car received the MM chassis & strut tower bracing as well as the very mild 1” drop "sport" springs when it only had 20,000 miles on it. It has been driven on smooth roads it’s whole life and is absolutely the best driving Mustang convertible you will ever find. I but a brand new $900 top on the car in 2006. It is the finest I have ever seen on a Mustang and was done in Pasadena, CA at an 85 year old top shop. Shortly after, I sold the car to my father and shipped it from California to Florida, where it has accumulated only 4,000 miles in 4 years and has been in air conditioned storage year round. Body: The car has it’s original paint except for the front & rear bumpers. I replaced the original trunklid with one from a coupe, eliminating the luggage rack & 3rd brakelight. The paint on the new trunk is nice but could be better. The original paint on the hood has the typical lacquer checking that these cars seem to have, but is presentable. There are really no other dents or dings to speak of, as the pictures show the bodysides are beautifully straight. The original trunklid is included in the sale if desired. Interior: The interior, top, and top boot are really, EXCEPTIONALLY nice. I have replaced the original stereo head unit with an Alpine but still have the original radio. The gauge faces are white like a Cobra of the same year, a modification the previous owner had made. Mechanicals: 5.0L V8 with stock internals, never been apart. Stock heads have never been off. Runs great, only issue is a little blow-by through the dipstick probably due to the supercharger pressure. The underhood pad has a tear & needs to be replaced. The 5-speed manual trans is in great shape and does not have any typical T-5 issues. Wheels & tires:17x8 front & 17x8 rear Silver Cobra R AFS Replicas Summary: Positives: Perfect combination of modifications for a street driven convertible Mustang Tightest Fox body convertible chassis you will ever drive. You will look for a long, long time to find a triple-black 49k mile LX 5.0L manual trans convertible, none will drive this nice Great power & handling Mint interior & best replacement top I've ever seen on a fox Mustang Negatives: Supercharger is a little loud Hood & trunk paint could use some work if you want to show the car Still has 4-lug wheels & rear drum brakes Call Jeff with any questions: 941-350-1964Clear title, we want this car to go to a good home.
