In 1908 Billy Durant bought it for his General Motors Corporation and the rest is history. Throughout the years Oldsmobile became the innovative division of General Motors. In 1937 the series F six cylinder cars had a complete restyle and at a price of $870 (373601 model) were very popular. The L-head six cylinder engine with 230 cu in displacement produced a respectable 95 hp at 3400 rpm. This 1937 Oldsmobile F-37 Fastback Sedan starts right up and runs well. It is one of the few F-37 601 Sedan models to have survived. This car was rescued by its current owner in 1981 at which time it was reconditioned and restored over the years and used on many local car tours. It comes with a detailed maintenance history on the car dating back to 1985 when the restoration was completed. The front and rear seats, the headliner and carpets are in very good condition. The car also has a working heater. The exterior is in need of some cosmetic help and paint. The dashboard paint is also chipping and the glass at the base of the windshield is browning but the rest of the glass is in good condition. The photographs best represent the condition of this car.
