Vehicle Detail
1965 Kaiser Jeep CJ-5 Project My 4 year-old son had surgery & I am being forced to sell my project to cover the medical bills. Up for bid is a 1965 Jeep CJ-5. The original engine has been removed, but everything else original is there. I will include a 4.3 L Chevy V-6 & all major parts necessary to make the conversion except for the clutch. It is even still the original paint, plus some primer to stop rust. It is mostly just surface rust that will be easy to clean up except for some bubbling on the right rear quarter panel that I am guessing needs some work, but I can't tell until the paint is removed. (see pictures.) Also, the floorboards are severely rusted (including a hole on the passenger's side) and need replacing. Original Parts Included:- T-90 3-Speed Transmission- Spicer/Dana 18 Twin-Stick Transfer Case (Amazing Transfer Case!), which includes a PTO - Dana 25 front axle- Dana 44 rear axle- 8,000 lb. Ramsey Winch, worm-drive & driven by the PTO, not electric or hydraulic (incredibly strong)- Original speedometer & gauges- Original wheels, including the spare- All original body parts, except for spare tire carrier - Original seats (which need recovering)- Original gas tank & sending unit- Original roll bar- Original windshield is cracked and needs replacing- Driver's side front fender needs to be repaired (minor welding of a 4" tear) or replaced- Original tail lights are broken and need to be replaced- Original headlights & marker lights work greatEngine & Adapter Parts:- Heavy-Duty Chevy 4.3 L V-6 with TBI (Throttle Body Fuel-Injection) pulled from a Chevy 3/4 ton pickup - Engine was professionally rebuilt by previous owner in a hot-rod shop- I am not sure what all was done in the rebuild, but it included many performance parts including an Edelbrock Performer Intake. Hot-rod shop claimed it now makes over 300 horsepower & over 300 ft-lbs of torque, but I have no proof of this. Approximately 11,000 miles on the engine since the rebuild and ran great when I pulled it. - I will also include the TH-350 (Turbo 350) Automatic Transmission that was/is mated to the engine in case you decide to convert the Jeep to an automatic. (Also rebuilt at the same time by the hot-rod shop.)- Conversion engine mounts from Novak Adapters- Transmission adapter from Advance Adapters to mount Chevy engine to the stock T-90 transmission\- Chevy bellhousing to be used without the TH-350 transmission- ECM (computer) from the truck that the engine was originally mounted in.- Radiator from Chevy truck (fits into Jeep)*Also for sale locally, so auction may end early.*We are in the process of moving-- The Jeep is currently in South Austin, TX but if it is not picked up within 1 week of end of auction it will be moved to North-East San Antonio, TX. On Aug-22-10 at 13:51:49 PDT, seller added the following information: In regards to the question I answered, I just realized that I hit my max on pictures and the picture of the NOS windshield latches did not get added. I am emailing it to the person who asked the question, and am glad to email it to anyone else who would like to see them. Since I already have a bid, I have removed the local listing and will sell this Jeep via ebay. There is no reserve, so highest bidder takes it home! Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
