Vehicle Detail
This is a cool old car! I bought this from a couple in Ohio who said they were the second owners! It had been sitting in a garage since 1983 with a bad cam in the motor. It sat there until I bought it last year. It came with a 1974 455 engine. I had it all redone. The motor was punched out .030 which makes it a 462(?). The heads were all redone and new valves were put in along with springs to match the camshaft that was installed. (I have receipts) All new bearings, fuel pump, timing chain, water pump and oil pump The motor is topped off with an Edelbrock 750 Carburetor and an Offenhauser intake. The exhaust is 2.5 in diameter and is all new front to back with headers. (There is a small exhaust leak that is annoying but not a big deal.) The motor is fresh with about 500 miles on it. The motor was broken in properly with zinc oil and engine break in additives. There is one small oil leak in the front that I have not traced yet. But it’s minor. I new HEI distributor was installed with the upgraded module. I had a comp cam and lifter set installed. (part number 51-223-4) Intake .477 exhaust .480 The interior is all original with the exception of the dash cap and the Trans Am style instrument cluster. The tach does not work. The upper door panels are worn wear the window cranks are. The carpet is original as well. New front seat belts will need to be installed. I do not have them and have not gotten around to it. The transmission is a turbo 400 and shifts great in every gear. The rear end is a GM 10 bolt posi. The rear end cover gasket will need to be replaced. I changed all the fluid with the posi additive and cracked the gasket. Not sure of the gear ratio but this car is fast. The brakes are front disk rear drum set up. Oddly, the brakes are not power assisted. The brakes are all good and the master cylinder was replaced. This is a fairly rare year from what I have been told. This car originally was an a/c car but the under hood components are long gone. The body on this car is nice. Not a northern rust bucket ever. It still has the original quarters on it! All the floors, frame rails, cowl, trunk are all solid. The car was red when I got it. The original color was some type of a burnt orange. The car was repainted recently red and looks really good! Not perfect but a very nice paint job. New door and trunk gaskets were installed at that time. The front bumper has some light cracks in the paint that you would probably never see….but just wanting to be as honest as I can. The front windshield has a small crack on the lower passenger side. Not really noticeable which is why I never did anything with it. The door glass has some scratched from going up and down. Passenger side tail light has a crack in it. (I know I am being picky) The car has 4 Pontiac Rally wheels with trim rigs and correct center caps. The 225/70/15 tires are very nice! The front end was aligned and new parts were installed. It drives straight! The front sway bar is huge and corners great. I have done my best to describe the car. I can tell you that some things will be better that you thought, and some maybe not as nice as you thought. It is hard to describe every detail about the car. That is why I have my number listed. Just call and will do whatever I can to answer your questions or concerns. The car is available for inspection by appointment. The car is located in River Falls WI 54022. I will be happy to work with any transport company to help out, but the arrangements are up to you. I do know of a reputable company that will provide you a quote if needed. Fly in and drive home!
