Up for auction is a 1970 BMW R75/5 motorcycle with a clear title. This bike is not currently running and does need some work, but overall it is an excellent platform to start with. It is 98% complete, probably is missing only a few bolts and fasteners. All the major parts are present, but some need work before reassembly. I originally purchased this bike in its current state with the goal of rebuilding it as a winter project while away at school. I could not get an adequate place to store and work on the bike, therefore I need to sell. Motor: The motor was taken apart because of a bent valve. The valve still needs to be replaced. There also was some wear on the cam shaft, so it may need a new cam as well. The pictures clearly show its current state of assembly. Transmission: The transmission is currently stuck in a single gear. The fluid drains out clean and dry with no rust. Chassis: Besides some motor work and a transmission, the rest of this bike is very clost to being ready to go. The wiring is in place, and the previous owner stated that the headlight and instrument cluster all worked well. While it may need a few things adjusted, it is all there. The rear turn signals are missing. The mufflers (not pictured) are included and are in fair to good shape. Please feel free to contact me at (847) 354-1534 with any questions regarding this bike.
