1983 BMW R-Series

For sale is my 1983 R65ls. It is in good condition, and runs perfectly. From the previous owner's description, its engine was rebuilt, and several upgrades were done. The mileage was zeroed at the rebuild. The heads are dual plugged, with some port work, including permanently plugging the Pulse Air Injection system (no more popping on deceleration). The Carbs are replaced with Mikuni Slide Carbs, which allow for more power, easier cold starting, and better throttle response. The flywheel has also been lightened. A Dyna ignition booster and coils are installed. Starts extremely easy, and idles steady. Revs smoothly. I replaced the final drive unit with one with near perfect splines (and lubed them with moly-60 grease before putting back together). Transmission is smooth. Brakes are excellent (Dual front disk with Brembo calipers-Unique to the R65LS). There is a new battery, and new oil. I disassembled and cleaned the electrical system. I purchased this bike from the previous owner who had parked it when he got married. I rode it for a bit, but preferred a standard bike, rather than the sporty position of the R65ls. The paint on the tank is in excellent shape (original BMW, although it is a different color than normal). The paint on the plastics is in good shape, although not BMW OEM. There are a couple little gravel nicks, and a light scratch or two on the tank, but I will have to point them out, as they are hardly noticeable. My dad or I would be happy to show the bike.
