Vehicle Detail
1966 PONTIAC GTO I have reached retirement age and I’m downsizing so I can relocate to a state with a warmer climate. So my “Loss can be your Gain”. This car is a true survivor of the muscle car era. It needs a little work here and there but it runs very smooth and strong. It will still snap your head back and smoke the tires when you get into it. The car does have little issues that needs repair, such as the horn does not work, rear side windows need adjustment, they go all the way up but roll hard. Some of the outside trim is fading and needs to be re-chromed or replaced. I drive the car out for cruise nights, to local car shows and Sundays for fun but not in bad weather. It has been garage kept since I purchased it in 2004. Engine: Pontiac 421 cu. inch motor coded (YH027056X). This 44 year old motor starts right up and does not smoke. The carburetor is a Holley Performance 750 cfm duel feed 4 barrel on an Elderbrock aluminum intake. It has a Pertronix Flame Thrower distributor and Spark Plug Wires. The motor was rebuilt by previous owner. Exhaust: Is a couple of years old with Headman headers which connect to 2 1/2” Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers. Has a great powerful sound at idling and at 60 mph. Interior: It has the original black bucket seats, black carpet and headliner as when I purchased it. They are still in great shape. I replaced the dash pad and door panels about a year ago. I had the back window deck rolled and pleated. The wood grain panel on the dash does need replacing. Transmission: Manual close ratio Four Speed with Hurst Shifter. The clutch, pressure plate, release bearing and rear seal were all replaced in 2009. Rear End: Positraction Rear End with --- gears. Brakes: It has front power disc brakes and rear power drum brakes. Wheels and Tires: It has Pontiac Rally II wheels and B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A white letter tires. The spare is a Rally II wheel and a Radial T/A tire. Trunk: Is solid with what looks to be the original trunk mat and spare tire cover. Exterior: The front grill is original, and has small cracks in the plastic, like most original grills do. The paint is Pontiac Montero Red and it’s in very good shape. There are no dents but the paint could use buffing out. Just to let everyone know, I placed the car for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this auction for what ever reason.
