1970 914 1.7 4 cylinder. New Lower Reserve! Car is in excellent shape and is complete down to the tool kit, jack and owners manual ( Reproduction). The only modifications are Jetta type side mirrors , Weber 40IDF carbs and a short shift kit. It has a Cherry Wood Grant steering wheel with extender. The interior has no rips or tears. The paint is in good shape but needs a good buffing ( I do not have a very good buffing wheel) It was originally a bright Blue color. There is some rust at the rear of the belly pan , but none on the body. There are some small parking lot dings at the doors, but none serious. Also,the battery was moved to the rear trunk at some time and there is an old small hole at the trunk floor from battery acid from when the vehicle was parked for a long time before I bought it 13 years ago here in Portland, OR. I do not know the actual mileage as the Odometer does not work ( Speedometer does). I only drive it a few hundred miles a year. I have a box of original parts including the Injection system , side mirror, steering wheel , etc. ( I think everything is there , but can't be positive) It runs very well and does not smoke unless it is over revved. I do not drive it hard and it has never been raced to my knowledge. I cannot get the parking brake to work. It has lived inside my garage since I bought it. The top fits tight and does not leak. The heater controls at the dash do not work but I wired the heater motor directly to a separate dash switch and it heats really well. I do have another dash control set that I have not installed.
