Vehicle Detail

This is one KRAZY KOOL Hot Rod. OK, enough with the stupid spelling, and the dumb "period correct" baloney. This car is just plain cool. I tried to sell it last year, but the buyer got goofy about the vin number. He didn't really research where it was located, and the title was in the previous owners name. Well, the whole experience motivated me to keep it, but I am just too busy to work on it, and I found another car that I want to buy. Since the last time, I have now transfered the title into my name and it is free and clear and fresh. The VIN number is located in the passenger door jam - not on the firewall! On to the description: This car is so solid, it needs no major metal replacement. The trunk floor has some pin holes, and the drivers side rocker has a small 3-finger hole where the running board used to mount. That's pretty much it, you could fix these area's or you could leave them, they're not bad, and they are not "structural". I was thinking fiberglass would work for a quick and dirty patch, but to each his own. The patina is something people would try to replicate, but I was gonna paint it. I did primer (rustoleum red) one back fender, but a good pressure washer would bring it back to patina if one wanted that. The frame is solid, that's it, just solid, clean, and completely solid. The rear axle is a Ford 8.8 with a trak-lok factory limited slip that I narrowed by cutting down one side to match the "short" side and got another short axle. The axles are 31 spline, and the gears are 3:73's, it also has disc brakes. I have new pads and new rotors for it, I have the calipers, but you may want to swap them out at your local NAPA store. The rear suspension is modeled after a 60's Chevy truck, with trailing arms and a panhard bar and QA1 coilover shocks. The arms mount to the frame with 3/4 inch chrome moly heim joints, not 5/8 inch like most every thing else out there. The rear suspension is over-built to say the least! The front is a Speedway motors kit with disc brakes - all new! I got new 1950 pontiac tailights mounted in the body (located like a willys coupe) and welded up the rear fender stock light mounting holes. I have brand new low-back seats, like "mastercraft" baja style, but a different brand EMPI is the brand of mine. They are all black, fabric where you sit, vinyl everywhere else. They are suspension seats, not uncomfortable fiberglass or plastic, or some dumb "bomber" style aluminum "are we freakin there yet, cuz my ass is killing me" seats. I made mounts, but the final install is up to you. I installed a $300+ Southwest Speed dual master cylinder / clutch master cylinder and I have the slave cylinder and a braided hose kit for the clutch. The transmission is a completely rebuilt Saginaw 4spd with a resurfaced flywheel and a new clutch package. The shifter is a used Hurst unit, that's all clean and works great, you can shift it and make engine noises if you want! I paid $1000 for the trans! The floor around the shifter is all done / the pictures are last years pictures. The steering is now all hooked up, it is "traditional" style using the stock box, which I cleaned inside and out and relubed - it's tight. I have the headlight buckets and the hood. THE BLOWER/SUPERCHARGER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE. The engine in there now is a cracked block SBC, it can go with the car. I used it to make the mounts and such. I have the "Fat Fendered" Headers that come from Speedway motors. I also have new front shocks and I made mounts / they are requireing some welding to be finished. There is alot of welding done, but there is alot left to do, this is a project! There is no oil in the rear axle so it will have to be trailed, no 2-wheel car dollies! Please ask questions, cash only, good luck, REAL AUCTION! BID TO WIN! Thanks! I live 20 minutes from the Minneapolis airport. On Aug-14-10 at 10:40:03 PDT, seller added the following information:Posting some more photos - taken with the wife's Blackberry, so the quality is so-so. I have made a removeable panel that goes around the shifter to close the hole up in the floor. I was just gonna mount it with sheetmetal screws to the framework that surrounds the hole. There is a brand new Hurst shift boot that finishes off the floor. You can see the pedal assembly in the one shot - no throttle has been setup yet. A picture of the seats, both frames are made - need to beef up floor still. I have some other stuff that I may offer the winning bidder, so bringing extra cash might be a good idea. I don't want to get into details about the stuff, because I may list it seperately - think vintage supercharger setup........ The drive shaft is NOT ready - it is half ford and half chevy. The yokes are what cost alot, and I have those.
