NOT a clone..this is a real live Twister Special! There were only 90 Torino Twister Specials ever made and only 38 had the 429 Cobra Jet engine, 4 speed transmission and 3.50 Traction-Loc rear end like this one. Until I found her in a garage in North Carolina, there were only 12 of these known to exist, and this may be the last Twister to ever be found. From the snorkel of the shaker hood assembly to the rumble of the mighty 429 Cobra Jet engine to the traction-lok 9in. rear this one is pedigreed through and through. This is a stunning rust-free example of the Twister Special. There is NO rust on this car. It has the normal nicks and dings of a 1970, but there isn't a hole in it. Fenders, floors, rockers, quarters and doors are all as solid as the day she left the factory in Atlanta. The numbers-matching engine runs well and quietly without smoke, and I can tell you that when you dump the clutch all kinds of exciting stuff happens IMMEDIATELY! I did have a little trouble explaining to Officer Friendly how all those twin streaks of rubber happen to be on the pavement in front of my house but it was worth it! As you can see there is a rip in the front seat. Other than that the interior is in good shape and looks very attractive. It comes with all the options a Twister is supposed to have...an AM radio and power steering. The car is fully documented with the original bid sheet, the Marti report, and a verification letter from Ford Motor Co., as well as the original owners manual. I have the clear title in hand Serious bidders only please. There may never be another chance to own a rust-free Twister again.
