1941 Chevrolet pick up 1/2 ton short box collector truck. This is an original rare find. I have a clean and clear Wisconsin title ( see picture) I was told that the truck was last used in 1965 and stored in northern Wisconsin since. The hood on this Chevy truck is dent free and opens, closes and latches nicely. There are no dents in the cab. The doors are in good shape. The fenders are all steel with no rust I can see. The running boards are all steel with no rust or cracks. The bed is rust free and the wooden rails and slats look to be in good shape with no rot. The interior is in good shape with all of the gauges and trim. All of the gauges are there and when I drove it the speedometer was working. The springs for the seat are in great shape. The upholstery was rough so I covered it with a blanket. ( the seats need recovering) The 4 speed shifts fine including reverse, and the clutch does not chatter and is smooth. The engine does not smoke and there is no bearing noises or knocks, ( one lifter hung up when I first started it but went away, may need adjustment) After running for 5 minutes I noticed the radiator overheating and should have the radiator redone. Went through the brakes, the truck stops fine but left rear brake leaks and needs rebuilding. All of the windows go up down easily. Side windows have good glass. the windshield and rear window have cracks as pics will show. All four wheels have hubcaps and trim rings, plus spare tire wheel. The floor pans on the truck are rust free. This truck was pulled out of storage, put a battery in it, ( previous owner converted from 6 volt to 12 volt), cleaned the gas tank, checked the fluids, and fired right up with no smoke or knocks. We took the truck to our mechanic and he said that it needs the rear brake cylinder rebuilt and radiator flushed and recored. This truck is so original and a straight rust free body and bed, it would be well worth restoring to show quality or do the minimum and keep as a daily driver.
