Vehicle Detail
This bird has been setting for quite a while. It is an actual Road Runner, not a clone. While it looks rough, It is complete with the hard to find stuff there. It has an original(very nice) 440-6pack hood.(It has a 4 barrel Carter AFB on it). It was running in the low 12's set up as is, in fact it was slower with the six pack, with a well set up 6 pack it was claimed it would run with a Hemi car though. It has a 727 transmission with manual reverse valve and an 8 3/4-4:56 geared rear end. It has virtually new Mickey Thompson Indy profile tires on it(still have mold vent studs on them). They have been mounted on it for years but they have been in the shade and have very little sun damage. The engine is free, battery is shot and starter needs cleaned up along with connections. It originally had vinyle top which has deteriorated. Has the original pin type road runner emblems. The original beep-beep horn still works. It also has a period SUPER SUN TACK MOUNTED ON COLUMN just like it used to be done. Originally this was most likely a 383 car with the 440 added later. To answer a lot of questions; Yes I drove it years ago, it was running when parked. It is my eldest son's car. Yes it will take a lot of time and some money to restore, but even the current values on old Road Runners like this restored(especially with only 47K on the speedo) leaves a lot of room for making a killing on this car. All the glass is original. the doors are solid(passenger door has stuck outside door handle and can only be opened from inside which I sprayed with WD 40 to help free it up). No, we no longer have the six-pack. The hood came with the car before they were making reproductions, so it is an original hood. It is not for the faint of heart, its a lot of work, can be scarey to drive.
