5 Day Auction At No Reserve - Sold To The Highest bidder This is a Original & Rare 1960 Pontiac Bonneville 2 Door Hardtop. Built & lived it's entire life in California, making this a perfect example of what a California car should be. It was owned by the original owner's daughter up in' till late 1995. Her dad purchased it new at John Hine Pontiac in San Diego,CA . Fast forward 40 year's, the original owner's daughter lived in a senior retirement community center ( Leisure World ) and advertised the Bonneville in the local newspaper for sale. It transfer ownership thru the 2nd owner & was barley driven the last 15 year's. Has had only two registered owner's since new. Apper's to be the original 389/283 Automatic, " A1" engine suffix. All stock under the hood and look's to be untouch. The original color is SkyMist Blue / white top with Blue interior. Has been painted once but done about 30 year's ago, leaving the jambs / trunk untouch. The body is straight and in very good shape for it's age. Complete chrome, emblem's and glass. Solid and original floor's. The quarther's are in great shape as well as the fender's. The only rust I see is a small amount on the passenger side edge of the rocker panel toward the rear tire and a smaller spot before that. Also, the trunk compartment is all original but does have surface rust with a few tiny holes. Keep in mind, this Bonneville has never seen snow & has not been living anywhere near salted roads. It's a True California Pontiac but does have some surface rust. The interior is Bone stock and look's to be factory. The dash compartment remain's complete with the factory radio. Headliner and carpet are in place. The original 389 run's great. Shift's into all gear's just fine. Does not overheat or blow any smoke. It does have pick up and go for it's size. Has power steering and power brakes as well. Make's it alot of easier to handle. All the light's work including gauges. Window's roll up and down just fine. Driver side glass is cracked. The wheel cover's are original. The tire's are Bfgoodrich Silvertown Polyerster, 8.50.14. This is a great Hardtop to drive around the way it is. I would keep it original looking as it's hard to see one in this sort of shape. Keep in mind, it's unrestored. Overall, this is a complete & original 1960 True Bonneville 2 Door Hardtop. Now, alot Pontiac guy's have emailed and gave me some more information on the engine. Here is a email from a good guy name Bob. " Thanks for the pics of the engine pad. The driver's doorpost VIN plate number is 860S3999 indicating a 1960 Bonneville with a factory production sequence on the Southgate CA assembly line of 3999 . On the left portion of the engine block ID pad sequence is the vehicle VIN which is 360S 3467 which indicates a 1960 Ventura with a Southgate CA assembly line sequence of 3467. The engine pad A1 indicates a 2 barrel engine with 10.25 :1 compression having 283 H.P. It's not uncommon to find an engine change over a period of 50 yrs. With the 4 barrel carb, this would have been a B1 engine which has the same 10.25:1 compression but with 303 H.P. This intake and carb have been added to a replacement 2 barrel engine with the Hydra Matic transmission,they probably replaced the engine at some period and put the original 4 barrel intake and carb on the replaced engine. This is a very nice car,and there are not many survivor's left out there.Some one will be very happy to own a specimen such as this. Regards Bob " Overall, the engine is a 1960 Pontiac 389 built in SouthGate,CA - same plant the Bonneville was built at. Word of advice to all bidder's, dont' wait the last second's to bid, it's not worth loosing for a few dollar's. Not very often a Bonneville in this shape come's around with No Reserve.
