1983 Mercedes 300 SD 5 cyl 3.0 litre in very used condition. The Good: gets 25 mpg, runs on diesel or biodiesel or veg oil. New starter last month. New water pump last month. Newer wheels (15") off a 1993 with new lug bolts and spacers made for Mercedes. Very good BFG tires 1/2 life left. New am fm usb radio in dash (pyle), no amp, sounds decent. Drives straight down the road, good brakes. This car is ready to go anywhere. Always starts right up. Newer radiator. The Bad: transmission has been slipping in overdrive (only) since I bought it 4 years ago. (199000 miles). When it warms up it shifts into 4th. I drove this car to Phoenix and back to San Diego last month and had NO problems. Interior shot, has wrong seats in drivers and pass installed. My dog chewed up the panel on the back door and it is thrashed. Only drivers front window is working. Sunroof has never opened for me. There is a tiny bit of rust thru at the body by the top of deck lid on the drivers side. The odometer broke at 297xxx miles (see pic) and I figure the actual miles at around 325000.  Missing air cleaner. The car body is straight, no dents, just 27 year old paint faded and needing a wax job. Basically, if you need safe economical transportation, this car fits the bill. It should last another few years with oil changes and proper maintenance. ( I have always done my own oil changes and coolant and brakes).  I have tried to be as forthcoming as possible and I would invite anyone to test drive it if you are in San Diego, Ca.
