1968 Pontiac Tempest Coupe - A True Time Capsule At No Reserve * Before you read on, click the video above * Don Art's mother owned this Pontiac Tempest since 1968. The dealership she purchased it new at was Ruehman Pontiac,145 Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood, California. She only drove it once or twice every couple of weeks to & from the grocery store. Leading it only to have 40,120 original miles. In the 90's, she stop driving and in 2004 she passed away. Her 74 year's old son, Don Art inhertied in 2004. This is a True unrestored, and original kept 1968 Pontiac Tempest Custom. Overall, It show's the mile's are correct for this car. First time up for sale since 1968 at 5 Day's with No Reserve. A rare chance to own a very low mile Pontiac that was well taken care of. Complete stock & Number's matching 350 V8. Factory option's including power steering, power brake's & air conditon. Was ordered without a radio, making it a radio delete Pontiac. Does have the warranty book inside the glovebox. This Tempest is very smooth and you can barley hear the engine run. It handle's and drive's like it should with the extreme low mile's it has. The automatic shift's with out even feeling it. You can turn the steering wheel very easily. Don told us that his mom never drove over the speed of 55mph. She never took this Tempest out of the city of Los Angeles, California. The air conditon still work's as well as the defroster. The dash light's and gauges work. Windshiled wiper's work in the 2 speed's. All the window's go up / down just fine. Even the door buzzer still come's on. Can be driven anywhere and would make a great daily driver. Keep in mind, it's a unrestored car. It was built and raised in Southern California, making it a fine example of a California car. It spent most of it's life in a single car garage. Never seen snow or salted road's. The body is in great condition and is solid. Factory quarter's with GM trunk spray in the trunk. It has had only repaint many year's ago, being repainted the factory color " April Gold ". The passenger side fender has the clear peeling. The jamb's and trunk are original. Straight line's with no dent's. Very clean around the front and rear window. All the original Soft Ray Glass including the weatherstripping is intact. You can tell by the photo's of what sort of shape the body is in. The undercarriage remain's solid & clean. The trunk comparment is in Beautiful shape. The original Firestone Spare never touch the ground. The original jack set up is still in place wit the rubber boot wrapped around it. The rubber mat has never been out of the car. The trunk compartment show's that it was kept inside. All emblem's are attach except for the passenger Tempest Fender badge and len's. The interior is 100% original and in complete stock condtion. The mile's prove the shape of the interior. Never been smoked in and barley any body sat in the rear seat over the year's. The original owner knitted blanket's to have it covered all these year's. She Covered the dash, rear tray, the back seat, the carpert front seat with her homemade blanket's. Factory Pontiac floor mat's still in place. It really show's that it has been taken car and is in unbelivabe shape for it's age. Look's like there was never anything in the glovebox. Overall, this is as clean of a body they come. Not everyday, a low mileage Pontiac only to be owned by the original owner come's along. Fly in and drive it back, that easy.
