Vehicle Detail
1964 Nova SS V8 4 Speed Up for bid is this original 1964 Nova SS V8 4 speed. This car truly was a barn find. Purchased from the original owners family in Oregon I have owned the car since 2003. It has been waiting for a restoration which seems may never come in my shop due to other projects. The original 1964 owner protection plan book is with this car. This Nova is a 922 code ember reed paint car. It is a true SS 447 code car. It is a Norwood Ohio built Nova. It has its original 283 2 barrel engine with the code F0317CF (Rare CF 4 Speed Code) The transmission and shifter are original. The rear is a factory posi with 3.08 gear and a stamped DF code. The production numbers for 1964 are 191,691 total Novas produced. 10,576 SS Novas both 6 cylinder and V8 combined. 3,599 4 speeds all models. 7,786 posi traction rears built. 25,083 V8 all models. The 1964 Nova was truly unique. V8’s and four speeds came out at the beginning of the model year (September 1963) but only in 2 door and four door sedans and wagons. No hardtops or SS models were made until January of 1964 in either V8 or 6 cylinders. This car is a 03D car means it was built in the fourth week of March 1964. This car is a piece of history!! It’s Ember Red color SS model a V8 4 Speed Cry out to Restore This Car!! The car runs and drives but the engine is tired. The body has no rust thru any panels. The bottom has surface rust but is not deep. The body is very nice with a few slight problems. The roof had some body work at one time as did the hood see photos. The left rear quarter also had some body plastic on it. But overall Very Very restorable. All the hardware and parts are in place. This Nova would make a great project.
