This auction is for a 1976 Datsun 280Z. This car is in daily driver condition. It shows 53748 for miles. The numbers on the counter are not perfectly straight across, so I assume this has rolled over once. It rides smooth with no funny suspension noises or excessive squeaks and rattle. This car is not a show car, though it is a great weekend cruiser. The paintwork is fair, although I doubt that it is original. The body is clean and straight withought too many dings in the doors. It is relatively rust free underneath, with no holes in the floors, sills, wheel arches, etc. All of the rust is minor surface rust and oxidation on the alumium components. There are no signs of major collision damage. The right front fender had a dent in it that was repaired, and the entire front fender was repainted. The bumpers are not the correct ones for the car, and we do not have the correct bumpers for the car. The wheels are clean, and don't have any major curb damage to them. The engine starts right up, does not smoke, and pulls strongly. We have recently given the engine a complete service and tune up. It has also had all the fuel lines and fuel regulator replaced. It is equipped with air conditioning, which does work. It does not run hot, and does not leak any oil. We have had some sections of the exhaust replaced recently as well. The brake master cylinder was replaced, the brake fluid flushed, and we have replace some of the brake hoses. It stops straight and does not pull to either side. It has newer tires on it. We replaced the shocks on the car as well. It is a 5 speed transmission and it doesn't make any noises either. The clutch takeup is smooth and easy. The interior is in fair, usuable condition overall. There are no cracks on the dash, the headliner was recenetly redone (in vinyl), and the seat covers are in great shape, though the foam is getting weak. All the instruments and guages work, and it has an aftermarket cd player with USB input. The carpets are also in fair condition. All the electronics on the stalk work (wipers, headlights, turnsignals, etc).
