Vehicle Detail

Up For Sale my 1961 Ford F250 Unibody pick up. This truck came from a ranch on the high plains of Colorado so it doesn't have a bunch of rot. It is mostly original. The engine is the original 292 Y-block. It runs great and as far as I can tell, it does not leak anywhere. It was rebuilt before I bought it. It still has the optional throttle lock too. I you're not familiar with these, look them up they are very durable, industrial type engines. The Y-block is also a unique sounding v8, like a Harley they have a sound all their own. The trans is the tried a true 'granny low' four speed that shifts nice and smooth. The rear is a Dana, I'm pretty sure is the 60, but a dana for sure. The wheels are one part that is not original. They are 16 inch American Racing aluminum wheels that need to be polished. The originals were 16 inch steel split wheels that most tire shops won't touch there days since one mistake and they like to blow up and kill people. This is not a rare truck by production numbers, but the numbers were not high. There aren't tons of them running around in this good of condition though. This it a real survivor from out West. It has a lot of surface rust, AKA Patina, but only a couple bad areas. There is a couple holes under the battery tray, and the drivers side cab step has a couple holes along with one dime size hole in the drivers floor board. The hood has some soft spots, but is not totally rotted. All the other typical places where rot appears are in good shape. This is a Very solid truck! The paint is faded and scratched. The truck was used as a truck, so it has dents, dings and scratches, nothing real bad though. All the glass it intact and in good shape except the windshield, it is cracked. All the seals are dry rotted, typical of a dry western truck. The seat is in okay condition, has some rips and patches, not bad for 50 years old though. This truck runs good and drives good too. It stops okay, but it needs some TLC. This thing as is would make a neat old work truck, or could be restored, or change the suspension over to f100 light duty and lower it or even a newer f150. I had planned to lengthen the cab an doors and make this into a kind of coupe style truck. I have way too many projects and need to get rid of something, so this is one that may find a new home. This truck has a clear title and is currently registered. Thank you for looking, email for more info. On Aug-01-10 at 19:20:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I've got a lot of questions today and read back through my ad. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about the condition of this truck, it is a great, solid canvas to start a project. This is not a fly in, drive home type of deal for most people. This truck runs great, but is hasn't been run more than 20 miles in years. The brakes will stop it, but need work. I've run this truck on the highway a few times, it is not for the meek, it's an old straight axle truck that rides like one. If you have any questions, please ask and get my answer BEFORE you bid. Thank You all.
