This listing is being relisted due to non payment. I appologize for anyone that was bidding on it. Hello My name is Clint Shockey I am the owner of East Texas Smoker Company. We are a custom pit biulder in Tyler Texas. Up for sale is my 1980 International School bus. I have modified this bus to be comfortable in hunting camping, tailgating situations. Mind you I do this for a living so everything was done right. This bus has allowed my and my freinds to have some great memories. There is nothing better than pulling up to your buddies house in a school bus and laying on the air horn. Starts a hunting trip off right. Anyways I am seeling this because I bought a fifth wheel for the wife and kids and this has been collecting dust 3 or 4 months. This bus has a Detroit desiel motor with an alison transmision. It runs like a top. I can leave it for months and step in the bus and it will crank right up like I just killed. The only thing mechanically besides regular maintenence I have done is change a driveshaft carrier bearing. The engine was transplanted from gas to desiel 4 years before I bought the bus. The motor only has 38000 miles on it. I have driven this bus many miles with no problem. The bus does have air brakes that work perfect. The tank and compressor also feed an insanely loud air horn. The tires are slightly worn with only about 6000 miles on the whole set. It also has a good spare. MODIFICATIONS: The creature comforts of this bus are what I have done the most work with. The bus was outfitted with a 7000 watt onan marquis gold generator with a 22 gallon seperate fuel tank. The Generator was completely rebiult from top to bottom by a certified onan repair center 80 hours ago. I have all reciepts. All electrical was ran to the ATS Automatic Transfer switch mounted inside the bus. This switch which was about 800 dollars allows you to connect to 50 amp land power ie. ( campgrounds ) or to run off the generator. It will pick were the good power source is and automatically route your power. Also I have installed a 50 amp ac/dc converter and two marine batteries so anytime you have land or gen power you are using it to run all the 12v dc accesories in the bus. This allows all the systems in the bus to not be able to drain your battery that starts your engine. The only thing the two batteries for the engine do is to run the engine. The two marine batteries will run radios lights phone chargers etc. Even if there is no 110 power. The two marine batteries will run it all for a long time. Also there is a parallax 12v dc fuse panel that has at least 10 additional legs for any aditional installs at a later date. This bus is also equipped with two duo term ac units. you can be going down the road and kick on the generator from the drivers seat remote start panel and the ac can run will you drive. They will make that bus an icebox if you want. I also installed a pioneer cd player as seen in pics. They are wired to 4 6" x 9" speakers. There are 2 at the front of the bus and two at the rear. This thing is loud if you need it to be. As the pics show the bus was gutted of all its seats. We kept 4 and made club seating with a custom table top. At the rear of the bus you will see 2 doors that open to allow for loading and unloading of anything from large 4 wheelers golf carts etc. The ramp is permanently attatched to the bus. It allows you to load and unload 4 wheelers with ease. Also is a shelf with tv dvd and a good place to store all your gear and fold up beds. There are 5 brand new fold up beds. I was going to permanently biuld bunk beds, but with the fold up cots you can put them all up and then you have a 25' x 8' enclosed trailer. So the we used foldup cots. And they sleep great. It really feels like a bunkhouse. My favorite thing about the bus is that I did not have to worry about people tracking in dirt or mud. The floor of this bus has a type of rhino lining. I would park it on a hill and take a hose the inside and it was ready for the next trip. My kind of cleanup. The bus show some age and has some dents and dings. I liked that is was a little rough around the edges. My main focus on this bus were that everything worked when I went to use it. And that has never been a problem. As you can tell by the pics this was a church bus for over 25 years . The church in keller had it serviced at there local international dealer in the metroplex and I have all service records. There is so much more to this bus I have not mentioned. If you would like to come out and take a look please let me know. All equipment except 4 wheeler and pop up chairs in pics will be conveyed with vehichle. I hope this can bring as much fun to you as it did me and my freinds. Clint Shockey 903 245 0039
