Vehicle Detail

Hello, thanks for checking out my auction. Up for auction is a 1969 Honda CT 70. I want to give a little history about the bike before I describe it, please bear with me. I got interested in getting one of these for my wife so I checked out ebay to aquire one. I then discovered that alot of people were getting them and resotring them. I found a ton of resources and decided to take on the task. What I ended up with is what's up for auction today. I purchased this bike on an ebay auction from a seller in New Mexico. It did come with a title but for the life of me I can't find it. I will be selling this with a bill of sale, and I wan't to assure the winner of the auction if I do find the title I will mail it to them but there are no guarantee's I will find it. I never transferred the new mexico title because the resotration took some time and when I was finsihed I wasn't able to find it. The bikes original color was orange, it was sun faded, this was a real roach but had alot of the original parts. I decided to paint it blue because this is my wifes favorite color. I completely stripped the bike to the frame and media blasted it along with the wheels. It was primed and painted useing spray paint from Shucks auto parts. Keep in mind I was not restoring this for auto and bike shows this bike was going to be with us when we went camping and we did bring it for about 3 years. I would have to say that there is not even 100 miles on this bike since it was finished. I ended up buying 3 Honda quads and that's what everyone preferred to ride. So I ended up with a little trail bike I rode around the camp ground whenever I wanted to go somewhere close. There was no extensive riding on this bike. Just as a note this bike will start on the 1st or 2nd kick cold when you hold the throttle open and give it a good kick. The frame vin# is CT70-127576 and the engine # is CT70E-127256 this is the original engine for this bike. I have checked out several auctions current and completed and most ads don't mention anything about the engine serial # nor do they mention if the handlebar knobs operate so the bars will collapse, these do you will see in the photos. The date of manufacture is 10/69 I believe this makes this a K0 1st year of the CT70's, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Things I replaced with new oem parts. Muffler, front brake cable, throttle cable, back brake lens and bulb, intake and exhaust valves, piston and rings, clutch plates, cam chain and gear, brake pads, points and condesor, spark plug, key switch, Honda frame stickers and the two side badges. After market parts used were the seat cover, chain, battery, engine gasket and seal kit and front tire. Things I didn't get around to replacing handle grips and light switch. The headlight worked but it won't come on now I believe it's because the switch finally completely went away, it does need to be replaced. A note about the mileage, the odometer reads 6825 this is not the original mileage. When I got the bike it didn't have an spedometer so I got one used off of ebay. There are spots on the frame where the paint was scraped most of this is very minor and completely normal for a bike that gets loaded on and off a trailer. One thing I didn't know about was the fork stop on the frame. This one is missing and it's sole purpose is to not allow the forks to rotate and hit the key in the ignition switch. You will see missing paint where this has happend. During the restoration process I tore down the engine completely and seperated the cases, cleaned and inspected all parts for wear replaced the kickstart and gear shift shaft seals and reassembled, this engine does not leak oil. The fork tubes were unassembled cleaned, painted and reassembled. The carb was unassembled and cleaned. The back brake light works as should as well as the horn. I'm trying to get a Youtube video of me starting and riding so anyone interested can hear it and see it but so far my kids and there Iphones haven't come through. That's about it, I need to discuss the payment options, there will be a $500 imdediate payment through paypal and the remainder will be cashiers check or US postal money order. I thought this could all be done through paypal but when I went to complete the listing this is what it said I could do. Local pick up is preferred but if I need to ship it that won't be a problem. I will charge $50.00 to crate it and take to a shipper. If you want it shipped you need to make the arrangments to have it shipped. There will be no international shipping continental USA only sorry Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. If you have any question please ask, I will be listing this on craigs list so this auction can end at anytime. Some of the key points about the bike are that the engine is the original, the bike runs great, lots of new parts, engine work has been done, not a show piece but not far from it for someone who would want to make it one. in closing I just wanted to say this has been a great project it took alot time, money and effort. I never ever intended on selling it, in fact it's difficult to do so but my current sitiuation demands it. These are a great conversation piece, I can't ride this to many places without having someone walk up to talk about it, but what's funny is their not that interested in my bike as much as they just want to tell me about the one they used to own. This has happened several times. Sorry about the winded ad but this was a very personal project, Thanks for looking and happy cycling. sincerely, Rich On Jul-22-10 at 16:32:42 PDT, seller added the following information:
