Vehicle Detail
This car was purchased by me from a private collector who had a large horde of vehicles at his building. I now have several vehicles and do not have the time to actually restore them all so I have painfully decided to let this one go. It look like the original engine paint is still on the engine. All of the emision related items installed when the vehicle was new are not on the car. The engine runs very well. When I first bought the car it had a leak in the fuel line so I changed the tank, lines and fuel pump. I put a battery in the car and she fired right up. The oil has been changed, plugs and wires are new. Engine does have headers installed. The car was sitting on the second floor of a cement building since 1991 without being moved or started. The brake lines are need repair, and the transmission lines are also in need of replacement. I did put the car on large jack stands and used a cycle system to make sure the transsmission was working and it is without issue at all. I do know it will need work to the interior. When it was first bought it was infected with white mold although the interior has been bleached and aired out four years ago o there is no threat today. The headliner is in nice shape but needs to be glued in place because it sags. It is not replacable with this correct liner anymore so saving it would be a good idea. The seats will also need a recover. When I sat is the drivers seat it cracked apart from sitting We did have an under body inspection done. The car has two small(less then six inches)on each of the front floor. The left frame rail has a rust through hole less 2inches round. A pointed body hammer was used for the unibody frame which revealed the hole and it is completely no threatening to the structure or drivability to the vehicle. I do have the original rims to the vehicle which are honey cob, although are different from the Trans Am due to a lip that was no on the formula model. If you know how to do the work it would be less $500 to get this car on the road driving. The truck, rear floors are in very shape, overall the body is well above average. The car could used a rubbing out and some touch up paint on the exterior but otherwise look like a nice car. It has the full potential to a one of the best Formula 400 firebirds around with minimal effort. I have the original owners manual and some other papers that I found in the car.
