Vehicle Detail

This is a 1988 Medium Orange Metallic IROC with T-Tops and the 5.7 liter "350 corvette" motor from the factory. I will describe the car as accurately as possible and have included many pictures for you to see what you are buying. This car is all original right down to the exhaust as far as I can tell with no major alterations or modifications. This car is basically as loaded as you could get it from the factory with t-tops, power windows (both sides good up and down good), power locks, power seat, leather interior, 4 wheel disc brakes, Bose audio with amplified speakers etc...The big 350 starts instantly, idles smooth, sounds great and runs strong. Car was just serviced with oil change, coolant flush, new belts and hoses etc..I have driven the car on a 3hr road trip in the last month with no problems. Interior is in pretty good shape and appears all original except the car has a new headliner, sun visors, and side speaker covers. The body is straight and has no signs of rust anywhere that I can see. The car has been repainted in its life sometime with base coat clear but is not perfect, it looks OK from a few steps back but shows some high and low spots in the paint up close (has some paint cracking on the hood also). It might be OK for a driver as is depending on how picky you are. I am really picky and would re-paint it if I was keeping it. Speaking of that I would love to keep this car. I just finished restoring a Bright Purple Metallic 98 Trans AM, currently working on a Grand National and a Turbo TA so my time and resources are going into those for now. This car had been sitting for quite a while when I bought it and I really don't want to see it sit another year or more. I am still flip flopping as I type this on whether to sell it or not. I would like to see this car go to an IROC enthusiasts or somebody that can give it the attention that it deserves, there are not many of these still around in decent shape. I have a clear Virginia title for the car showing 41,379 actual miles from the previuos owner. The car has only been on EBay for a few hours and I am already getting questions and offers. Yes the car will be sold to the high bidder it is NO RESERVE!!! No I am not interested in $1500 cash, I really don't even want to sell this car and my starting price is cheap already so bid if you want it. Car runs good and shifts good through all 4 gears, brakes work good, only observed problem is a little "hum" from the right front I am pretty sure it will need a drivers side front wheel bearing sometime (probably 10 bucks and 1/2 hour or less to fix it, I just did not think it was a big deal or I would have replaced it). The AC has been converted to 134A, but it did not seem to get cold when I tried it. It may just need a can of freon but I have not investigated that, have just been riding around with the T-Tops out anyway. Any other questions just ask! On Jul-19-10 at 15:32:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Well, after the question about the color I went over to where the car is stored and re-evaluated the color of the car. After pulling back the carpet and looking at the factory color of the floorboards it turns out this car is Flame Red code 74 after all (floorboards are rock solid by the way). The red and the orange both have heavy metallic and look similar on the color chips, I am sorry for anybody who got all hot and bothered because they wanted an orange car. I even had a guy that works at a local body shop look at the car and he thought it was orange too!! I repeat this car is factory "Flame Red Metallic" not orange!!!! If you want to cancel a bid feel free, no hard feelings or if you are not interested in a Flame Red car then don't bid. The 2 colors are really very similar and you could probably paint it orange without changing the door jambs or under the hood and nobody would notice. Because I screwed up on the color I am going to take off $250 at the end of the auction to make up for my lack of proper research!!! The RPO sticker is not in the console where it should be and I just made a bad "guess" at the color based on my observation in bright sunlight. I am assuming the console lid has been changed and the sticker went with it. Everything else is correct, car is 1 owner with a great report on CarFax and is definitely a 350 car. So my mistake is your gain, EBay will not let me edit the description about the color since the car has bids now. I repeat "I will take $250 off the final bid price to make up for my stupidity. Thank you.
