He has a reputation of being a purest! Last year we sold his vintage MGA to an auction winner in Finland; and his sister's red Mercedes 450SL to a fellow in Canada. Their vehicles are maintained in near pristine condition and worthy of any inspection by prospective buyers. You will see by the attached photos that this car has been very well cared for. The current owner has owned this Austin Healy Since '99 (over ten years). It is in super clean shape. He is only the fourth owner. He bought it from a close friend after having watched him restore the car in '98 & '99. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE MAJOR ITEMS UNDERTAKEN (by the 3rd owner) DURING THE '98/'99 RESTORATION... The transmission* was overhauled and clutch replaced. The brakes were rebuilt, and the shocks were replaced with re-manufactured factory originals. The car was repainted and new chrome bumpers with trim were substituted - they gleam. The entire interior was removed - new carpet and leather upholstery installed. More History: When the 3rd owner decided to sell "his baby" my friend jumped at the opportunity to own it, after all he had seen all the time, effort and money invested in the restoration. When the current (4th) owner bought the Healy it had just over 63,000 miles on it. This 100-6 model was manufactured just two months before the 100-6 model went out of production; at that point Austin Healy then produced the "3,000 model". Please examine the pictures... look how clear the window is on the convertible top; and how crystal clear the windscreen is. The chrome bumpers and spoke wheels gleam. The paint is intensely black as is the Stafast material of the convertible top and tonneau cover. They look to be in near perfect condition, no stains, tears or rips that I could find. But... don't take my word for it, please come inspect her first hand, even before you bid! You will then be able to appreciate the exceptional condition she is in. IT HAS A FACTORY INSTALLED ELECTRIC OVERDRIVE SWITCH ON THE DASH NEXT TO THE KEY LOCK THAT SAYS "NORMAL" AND "OVERDRIVE". FLIPPING THE LITTLE CHROME SWITCH WILL ACTIVATE THE OVERDRIVE SOLENOID AND DROP THE CAR's RPMs, JUST AS A 5th GEAR DOES IN A FIVE SPEED TRANSMISSION. The "Reserve" was not quite met the last time it was up for auction, so we have lowered it for this auction. We believe the reserve is set at a fair price and hope the auction will exceed our minimum expectations. We will immediately send you a PayPal invoice for the $500.00 deposit, which we require paid within 24 hours of the auction ending.
