Vehicle Detail

Hello, you are bidding on my 1979 Buick Electra 2dr coupe. This Buick originally came from North Carolina and made its way to New Jersey. About 4 years ago I purchased it from a classic car dealership that had her listed on Ebay. This car has 127,000 original miles on it; when I bought the car it had 97,000 miles on the odometer. The engine in this car is a factory equipped 350 Buick v8. The motor runs very strong, and does NOT leak any oil. This car has a beautiful custom dual exhaust system. The transmission is the factory installed Turbo 400 Hydramatic, which I had professionally rebuilt by The Trans Expert in Chicago, IL. They are trusted transmission experts, so I requested a mild shift kit. This trans shifts great and I have all receipts(800 dollar job). The driveshaft has new, heavy duty U-joints. I recently had heavy duty shocks and springs professionally installed, and the car handles great! The factory Buick "mags" are in very good shape, and include a matching fifth factory "mag" wheel as a full-sized spare. The tires are steel belted Hankook radials with plenty of tread left. The frame of this car has a factory undercoating that is still in good shape with no rotting. Over all the body is in great shape, but not perfect.I have shown a picture of the front passenger fender that has a minor dent. Above the driver and passenger doors I have shown pictures of some very minor rust that should be taken care of. The original hood ornament was stolen, but I have a like new replacement that will come with the car. The car was professionally repainted the original color about seven years ago. The paint shows some wear, but does not need to be re-done. A good touch up and buffing would make it look pretty cherry! The original Landau top is in great shape for its age. The car has a newer brake master cylinder and lines. The rotors, calipers, and hardware are all in good shape. The car is very much drive-able, but the pads and shoes are worn, and need to be replaced. The interior is completely original, and the "Limited" trim package makes it even more plush than the already luxurious "225" base model Electra. The white vinyl seats match the Landau top nicely. I have shown a picture of the driver's seat, which is showing wear. Passenger and rear seats are in beautiful condition. The armrests could stand to be re-covered. There is a minor hairline crack in the top of the dashboard, which could easily be repaired. Carpet is in good shape, along with the original headliner. Both could use a good cleaning to bring back their original luster. The car is fully loaded with cruise control, power windows, power door locks, power driver's seat, tilt wheel, wood grain dash panels(with optional clock), AM/FM stereo, and rear windshield defogger. The cruise control sometimes does not work. The A/C was re-done before I purchased the car, and blew very cold last summer. May need to be recharged. Everything else works nicely. There is an aftermarket receiver and tape deck in the car in addition to the factory stereo, which appear to be from the mid 1980's. They are feeding two 10 inch subwoofers and an amp in the trunk, all of which is included with the car. This is a beautiful car to look at, and even more of a pleasure to drive. It has been extremely dependable, and is pretty fast, for its size. Preserve it in its original condition and just enjoy driving it, or restore it and own a show winner. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about this car, and I will be happy to answer them(I could talk about it all day). I've set a low reserve so don't be shy! Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding!
