Vehicle Detail

1965 Chevy BelAir one-owner, four-door sedan for parts. This vehicle belonged to my father-in-law, who bought it new. It has been parked outside since 1979. It had been running great, then stopped--probably a timing chain issue. The car had over 100,000 miles on it. Car was white with red interior. Other than tires and wheels, not much has been removed from it. This will make a good parts vehicle. Car is located about 45 mi. southwest of Oklahoma City. 283 V8, auto trans, factory A/C, all original. Car is mostly intact mechanically. Serial # plate remains on driver's side door jamb, showing VIN: 156695R165992 and the letters DD following Chevrolet name. This vehicle sells strictly for parts/salvage. There is no title. Body Condition: Body has a patina of rust over much of the surface. But remove that rust and you'd surely have more and tougher steel than on cars manufactured today. There is no perforation of body. Oklahoma is mostly dry & sunny and didn't use salt on roads when this car was running, so no cancer of wheel wells. There is body damage to the left rear where it was hit once in a parking lot, broke one tail light lens (three remain). All glass is intact. Windshield shows some mold or discoloration around the interior edges. Headlights gone, but bezels remain. At least two hubcaps are inside car. Exterior trim and insignia intact (except maybe on left rear corner). Hood, trunk, and doors all latch. Interior: All interior soft goods are shot: seats, headliner, carpet, door liners, etc. (A pack-rat got inside.) But dashboard, steering wheel, shift lever, heat/air controls, etc. are intact. Ignition switch was removed. Windows, doors, hood and trunk have been closed, protecting interior and engine compartment from weather. I opened hood and doors for photos. Engine compartment: Carburetor and air filter housing are removed (a rag stuffed in intake manifold to keep out dust & insects) and a spark plug wire or two are gone. I believe otherwise it's intact, but can't guarantee it. Radiator and cap, alternator, A/C compressor and lines--those and more are in place. Fan belts are gone. Radiator hoses gone and rags stuffed in openings. Some red paint still appears on valve covers. Both dipsticks, distributor and cap, oil cap, brake cylinder, horn--these things remain. Missing parts: Tires and wheels, all interior soft goods, headlights, carburetor and air cleaner housing, ignition switch, trunk lock, one window crank, one strip of chrome trim on left rear quarter panel, one tail-light lens. Other parts may be missing, but this is all I'm aware of. Title and keys burned up in a house fire. I have described car as accurately as I can, but can't guarantee anything more. Car sells as is, where is. Opening bid of $125 is my reserve. Payment due within seven days after auction. IMPORTANT: This vehicle sells strictly for parts/salvage. There is no title. Getting a title for this vehicle would be a huge ordeal, costing at least $175. Seller will issue a bill of sale stating plainly that vehicle is for parts only. Ask whatever questions. We can email other photos showing additional detail. 100% positive feedback, here. Bid with confidence.
