This auction is for a 1996 Mazda Miata “M” Edition that is in good condition. Color is Starlight Blue Mica, with tan leather interior, tan boot and top, 4 cylinders, 5speed manual transmission, with 137k miles on it. We purchased the car back in February 2010 for the reason that we wanted to have a small convertible to drive around top down, serving as a weekend toy. The Miata serves that purpose really well. We like driving convertibles very much that we decided to get a Z3, hence we needed to sell the Miata. We need the garage space for the new car. The Miata is equipped with: Power steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power mirrors, alloy wheels, Torsen limited slip differential, rear subframe brace, cruise control, power windows, power antenna. The Miata M Edition added: Nardi wood shift knob, wood parking brake handle, 15" Enkei 5-spoke wheels with high-performance tires, M Edition floor mats, blue Miata logo on seatbacks, stainless sill plates, ABS, cold air conditioning, Premium Sound System with CD player, door-mounted tweeters, headrest speakers, M edition logo on tachometer, custom floor mats, security system and remote entry . The exterior of the car is in good condition with a shiny metallic paint. There are small dents and scratches expected in a 14 year old car, but nothing really major. The top is newer, it was replaced more than a year ago. It is not the best top around but is in good shape and has no leaks. The rear window has some scratches but is clear with no cracks. The interior shows some wear from age, especially the driver’s seat which has cracks and will need to be replaced down the road. The passenger seat is not as bad. The power window switch was replaced with a brand new OEM switch. The power windows are in working condition but they are a little slow in rising. . The car is mechanically very sound with no problems. A new clutch and timing belt were installed at 120k. There are no engine leaks and drives very well. The tires are directional and still have excellent treads. The front tires are a different brand from the ones in the back. Recent services included oil change, new brakes and replaced hoses for preventive maintenance. It is installed with a brand new K&N air filter. All the power equipment works. The sound system volume knob is notorious for going crazy at times, making it tricky to adjust the volume, but nevertheless works well. It can play cd‘s, cassettes or be tuned to radio. It has a mode for driving with the top down. The speakers were replaced with a nice set of Pioneer(s). The air bag light stays on (don’t know why) but the bag is intact. The car is ready to go for the next driver, all serviced and detailed. I won’t be afraid to drive this car anywhere in the country, Florida clean title on hand. I have a folder containing maintenance history back to 1998, the owner’s manual and the Motorbook Workshop for Mazda Miata MX-5 where you’ll find lots of information.
