You are looking at a 1986 Chevrolet Corvette. This vehicle is owned by the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and was used by School Resource Officers for their school program. The car was acquired through a drug forfeiture in 1999. The vehicle was then repainted in its current custom paint scheme. The were many logos painted on the body of the car that have since been obliterated. These markings were painted over or removed. When the car was cusomized, it was almost entirely redone. The vehicle had new wheels and tires, a custom interior, new stereo, video sceen mounted in the dashboard, custom steering wheel, and removable roof panel. The vehicle received regular service and was stored inside. This vehicle won many awards at car shows for its uniqueness. As the car sits today, the body is in great shape. The body panels and interior are intact, except for a section of headrest that was cut out that contained an emblem that had to be removed. The engine starts and runs strong. The electronics display is original and appears to function normally. The vehicle was outfitted with emergency lights that have been removed. There is some wiring from the lighting that remains, but it is not connected to any power supplies. The vehicle is not without some problems. The battery will discharge over the course of a couple of days if it is not on a charger. The rear taillights do not work, but the brake lights will illuminate. There was an antifreeze leak in the passenger compartment by the floor boards, but it is not currently leaking. The removable top has a small crack. The brakes work, but the power brake boost is not functional. The reason for retiring the vehicle is because of the cost of maintenance. I have included many photographs that were recently taken. If someone needs specific photographs please email me and I will send them. The vehicle is being stored at the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and is available for inspection upon request. The proceeds from this sale will directly help fund the existing Kendall County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer Program.
