Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1998 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. This is a 4wd version with the 4.0 liter V6 SOHC engine (more powerful but with the same economy as the regular 4.0 liter). It has an Oxford White exterior and Medium Prairie Tan interior. It has been babied its whole life and only has 97k miles. I bought it new and have been the only owner. Every thing works on the truck, it rides comfortably and is perfect for many more miles and years of use. It has always been extremely reliable and has never once left me stranded. Too many cars forces me to sell it. The Explorer is fully loaded and came with the following options: - Preferred Equipment Package 946a (includes luxury group, electronics group, premium group, overhead console, floor console with message center, auto air conidtioning, Mach audio system, steering wheel controls) - Power moonroof - California emissions - Sport bucket leather seats - Multi-disc CD changer Almost every factory options was included in the Preferred Equipment Package, so you can be sure this is a top-of-the-line Explorer. Sticker price for the Explorer was $34,585 new. AC is ice cold, it idles and accelerates smoothly, it is aligned and drives straight, and all interior electronics and lights work perfectly. It is a non-smoker car so there are no strange odors. The stereo is excellent, it has the optional Mach audio system with a subwoofer in the trunk which provides amazing sound quality. It accepts a single CD and cassette in the dash, as well as 6 CD's in the changer in the armrest. No rust on the exterior, and the car was recently inspected by my independent mechanic and found to be in excellent condition. Since owning the car, I have performed all necessary maintenance on it. I had purchased an extended warranty through Ford so I never hesitated to have it serviced. The oil was changed every 3 months no matter what. I have replaced multiple suspension components to keep it like new, and have also added 5 BF Goodrich All Terrain 265/70R16 tires with a full size spare and correct wheel. To confirm, the 5th wheel is the same as the rest, so you can rotate all 5 tires to prolong tire life. The tires have well over half of their life left and are in great shape. Also, I added headlight protectors and rubber floor mats which are currently on the car. I always kept the rear seats covered which is why they are in such good shape. All original manuals are included, as well as the service book which shows regular service history by Ford dealers. A few things to note: - The front fog lamps worked in the past, but the bulbs are burnt and will need replacing - There are some cosmetic issues with the car, specifically: a dent on the back left corner of the car, a dent on the right rear door, there is a piece missing from the back of the left running board, the front right turning light is slightly cracked - The front license plate holder will need replacing (it is a $20 part from Ford) The book value for this truck is $4,350 but I am looking to get something in the $3k range. Original window sticker, sales invoices, all original manuals, and the 2 sets of original keys with keyless remotes will be included. The car can be picked up in New York, NY and needs nothing to be a daily driver. It has a recent inspection and emissions test (around 1 month old) and it passed both tests with flying colors. Please contact me if you'd like to test drive the truck. The title is clear. Please note that there is an accident report in the vehicle history. The accident report was for a minor accident which only caused the scrape in the right rear door which you can see in the pictures. Reserve is under $3,500.On Jul-20-10 at 13:54:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note: the Explorer does have the rear A/C at the back of the armrest, and it works perfectly and blows ice cold air.On Jul-20-10 at 20:19:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve lowered!! Next bid wins.
