Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 1929 Ford Pick Up truck designed and built in 1988 by four of Buick's leading engineers to showcase the new 3.8 liter Buick Grand National V-6 Engine at SEMA show. The car then traveled to Pike's Peak Auto Museum where it spent the next twelve years on display until the museum experienced financial trouble and had to close. The lead engineer was contacted and had the truck shipped to his home in North Carolina where it was used in local parades. The pick up has only 610 original miles since built in 1988. This truck runs and drives well as it probably did in 88. The truck was shown at SEMA with a half hood ( shown in pics ) which is included. Only change in truck is that the radiator had buick script painted on cooling fins and the tailgate had buick script lieu of ford. Frame and suspension show professional workmanship. Interior excellent, paint good, couple chips from storage not bad. New battery, starter, plugs, etc. for ready to go or show. Wilwood front disc brakes, drum rear, tires good. The hoods, radiator shell, running boards, bed, and tailgate are steel. The cab and fenders are fiberglass. I am listing this truck for my neighbor and friend Phil who acquired this truck from the buick engineer a couple years ago. Please call or e-mail me with any questions you might have 336-969-5303 and I try to help or have Phil call you back. ( Phil also has for sale a set of four 1935 ford wire wheels painted red with very good wide white tires, trim rings, new center caps, not included in this auction that would look great on this truck, If interested in wheels let us know.) Thanks Doug
