Vehicle Detail
This is a very unique vehicle. It is a 1961 Apache type Suburban in decent condition. Someone in the past has done some upgrades. It has what appears to be a Caddy 425 V8 motor with AC and electronic ignition. It has power brakes, dual exhaust and an automatic trans was added. The tag on the glove box states it once was purchased for the US Government. The upgrade was an older restore and the vehicle would need a complete restore again. The 425 V8 starts up fine and it appears to have a news alternater and Holly 4bb carb. I took it for a drive for a few miles only and trans went through all the gears fine. The windows are in good condition including the windshield. Someone had once put fiberglass covers over the rear windows, one is still intact but can come off and the window is still in place. The head lights work but the rear lights didn't neither did the turn signals. It maybe a fuse or some thing. The interior doesn't look bad at all. It has a nice dash look and the seat is very comfortable. The body is very good for its age. I saw a little rust on the inside of the doors but rear of the vehicle is good. I see it has Texas stickers on the windshield. The reason for selling is I recently purchase another one a few years newer. If I don't sell, It will go into storage. It is for sale as is, needs work, type vehicle. The vehicle is located 15 miles East of Colorado Springs. Will be open to barter for an old Harley Also the radiator has been upgrade to a newer heavy duty aluminum type. I do not know too much about the truck since I got but it has lots of possibilities and would be a nice custom hot rod. See this 1961 for $30K http://www.cars-on-line.com/40374.html More information http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/06/09/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1961-chevrolet-suburban/ To answer questions about Air Conditioning: The engine was started and AC turned on and blew cold inside...The AC is operating. There is no rust in the engine compartment or next to the hood mounts. This truck has been in Texas and New Mexico where rust is not an issue The rear end is a 12 bolt. Locals are trying talk me out of selling it. This classic will increase in value. My loss, your gain I added a picture of the title for those who are in question.
