Vehicle Detail
True 69' Cougar Convertible Unrestored & A 5 Day Auction With No Reserve This is as original as you would want them to come. An 1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible 351 CID, spending most of it's life in Central California. Never to have been painted, remaing the original Light Aqua paint from the Mercury factory. History on it goes that the 2nd owner purchased it in 1973 and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Then later on, moved next to her brother in San Luis Obispo, California. Was well taken care of and alway's been in the garage. Option's include Disc Brakes, power steering, power top and Am/FM radio. All original body panel's & has never been in a major accident. The factory chrome and emblem's still in place. Even, still has the original white pin striping running down the side. The paint is original but does show it's age for being 40+ year's old. The underneath is as clean as they come. Solid floor's and frame structure. Trunk is clean and remain's in it's factory conditon. Does have a few ding's, surface rust and minor paint touch up's.The front valance had some work on and it was primed. Overall, the body is original and clean. The original color of the interior is Corinthian Vinyl & White Levant Vinyl with Aqua. Also, the convertible top has alway's been white. The dash compart is all original and has never been cut up remaing the factory Am/Fm radio. All stock gauge's still in place. The upholstery was redone using the same pattern/color look alike. The rubber insert on the steering wheel is missing. Also, has a newer top but the frame will need minor work to make it perfect. Now the drivetrain. Has the original 351 CID 2V Windsor " H " Code. FMX automatic transmission & 2.75:1 axle. Recently, drove it from San Luis Obispo straight into Los Angeles. Took Pacific Coast Highway about 220 miles from there to here. Gave no problem's and ran cool. It can be driven anywhere and would make a good dependable driver. Very stock looking underneath the hood, never abused or raced. Still remain's the factory exhaust and muffler. The hide away's do work just fine. The power top motor work's and we do have the original boot. The mile's have turned over once. Keep in mind, it's unrestored nor restored. Picutre's were taken last week. I have set my auction at 5 Day's with No Reserve, so serious bidding only - Will be sold to the highest bidder.
