To the hood on the Z06, already reminiscent of the “stinger” hood on the 1967 Corvette Sting Ray 427, the 427 Limited Edition adds a black stripe and “427” badges meant to mimic the old Vette. Other exterior modifications include unique wheels, a body-color spoiler (instead of the standard Z06’s black one), and body-color trim on the door handles. All Limited Edition Z06s come with the 3LZ Preferred Equipment package—the new-for-2008 dressier interior—in a special dark titanium color. The seats and the floor mats have “427” embroidery, and the center-console trim plate is finished in the same red as the body. Each 427 Limited Edition comes with a numbered plaque signed by Wil Cooksey, a name known only to Corvette faithful who may recognize him as the Bowling Green assembly-plant manager who is retiring in March.
