1987 Cabriolet, 5-speed, 4th owner, well maintained, daily driver, newer top (2 years old), cold AC, new tires with excellent tread, recent full brake job (rear cylinders, shoes, master cylinder, emergency brake cables, front pads, etc.), sporty driving lights mounted on bumper (come with covers), newer water hoses, recent full tune-up (plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter), regular oil & filter change (every 4,000 miles). Gets 35MPG highway driving with 30MPG combination driving. I bought this car in 2000 in Delaware from the 3rd owner with only 47K miles. I have used it for a daily commuter and put the next 150K miles on it! In 2007, i gave it to my son for commuting back and forth to college. He continues to commute from South Jersey over to West Chester, PA daily and it has never let any of us down. Well sorted and well maintained. I have repaired or replaced just about everything that can wear out. Over the years I have replaced the gas tank, front CV drive shafts, front struts, exhaust system, belts, regulator, hoses, radiator, tires, the timing belt every 70K miles, clutch, transmission, just about everything but the engine itself. That has been running just fine all these years (does not smoke or burn oil). Original paint and two very minor rust spots peeking through as can be seen in pix (in front of driver's rear wheel arch, rear trunk lid edge under VW lettering). Floors and undercarriage solid, no rust and no past repairs. Original driver's seat showing much wear (we just put a seat cover over it - not pictured) and passenger seat starting to wear also. Original carpet OK, with floor mats. All guages work fine, cooling fan kicks in while using AC or if running hot (idling in traffic - usually never comes on while in motion). Has AM/FM cassette stereo player with removeable front face (security-theft deterrant). Have original owner's manual and a Hayne's repair manual to go with car. All mouldings intact and on car. All lights, side marker lights, wipers work. Has current NJ state inspection. Car sold As is and where is. No warranty or guarantees provided as I am a private owner/seller.
