1955 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck: This is an original Bell System Telephone Company truck. It has the original "Bell System" decal on both doors and has the original Ford Motor company road warning kit behind the front seat. This truck runs well and holds good oil pressure. It drives, shifts through all gears and stops as it should. The body is in very good condition has minimal rust problems. I've taken close up pictures of the cab corners, a chronic rust prone area, and they are in good shape. The truck has been sitting for several years and the lights need attention. The truck has new battery, new spark plugs, recent oil change, new filter, good tires, and the rims are the original 16" Ford stamped wheels - including the side mounted spare. Please look closely at all of the photos. On the negative side there are the following issues: 1. the bed wood is rotten. The bed metal is in good condition, but has a few dings and surface rust. 2. The interior of the cab is original and has aftermarket seat covers that cover up the tattered original seat covers. 3. the front passenger's side fender has a dent in the lower front portion. 4. The windshield is cracked and the side door windows are also cracked. The window handles work properly and are in good condition. 5. I'm running the truck off of a small gas bottle. The gas tank should be dropped and cleaned. This is a very original - very complete 1955 Ford Pickup that was used as a Bell System Company Truck. When this truck was in use, the Bell System - American Telephone and Telegraph was a monopoly and had control of all telephones in the United States. There is a wide range of Bell System items being sold as collectibles on Ebay. If you wanted to restore this truck to a completely original vehicle, you could easily do so by finding the needed items on Ebay.
