Vehicle Detail
You are looking at an extremely nice low mileage 76 Honda CB750F Super Sport. Based on the ever popular CB750K, the Super Sport model was produced in this Single Over Head Cam configuration from 1975 to 1978, and is considered to be one of the industry’s first true sport bikes. It was also one of the first Honda models that featured a rear disc brake. I found this bike in one of my customers’ garage after visiting with him about vintage motorcycles. He found it abandoned in a storage complex, where it had sat for quite some time. He had it for a few years, and was going to build a café bike out of it. After modifying a fuel tank and attempting to build a seat for it, lost interest after trying to jump start it with a car and melting the wiring harness into a plastic coated ball of copper. Being a Honda enthusiast, knowing the history of these old Honda CB750 bikes, and with the low miles it had on the odometer, I had to have it. I set out to restore the bike to its original condition and former glory. I spent over a year searching for and buying the correct parts I would need, acquiring as many NOS items as I could find, along with only quality used Honda parts, many which I found here on ebay. All of the components on this bike have been inspected, cleaned, serviced, refinished, or replaced as needed. Some are listed below. -Front and rear brake calipers and master cylinders rebuilt with new OEM pads installed and rotors resurfaced -Forks disassembled and cleaned with new seals installed -Engine covers removed and new gaskets and seals installed -New chain installed -New OEM handgrips -Fresh oil and filter -New battery -Fuel system refurbished with rebuilt petcock and carbs using OEM parts -New seat cover with correct heat molded pattern from David Silver Spares installed -New color correct Candy Antares Red paint with painted stripes and correct Super Sport decals under urethane clear coat -OEM side cover emblems -New period correct tires with new tubes and rim bands installed The headlight, tail lamp, horn, and turn signals, along with that annoying beeper, operate as they should. It starts easily, and idles and runs excellent after a couple minutes of warming up. Clutch is smooth, and the transmission shifts well through the gears. The original exhaust is solid, and along with the rest of the plated parts, in very nice shape with some small hard to see blemishes here and there. The only item that needs attention is the neutral switch light. It does not go out when in gear. I have been told this is a common problem with the 750’s, and that to fix this issue, the switch might be able to be adjusted, but should be replaced. I am attempting to locate a NOS part, and will include one with the bike if I have one by the end of the auction. This condition does not affect the operation of the bike, other than the neutral light is on when in gear. I just want to be honest as possible about this so there are no disappointments for the new owner. By now you should have it figured out… Other than the neutral light / switch, there is a good chance that this old Honda, with just over 4800 original miles, is in excellent, close to new condition. If you are in the market for a nostalgic vintage motorcycle from the 1970’s, don’t let this one pass you by. The value of this machine will only increase over time. I would like to hang on to this bike, but a stray 1974 CB750K followed me home the other day, and now I’m out of room for toys in my garage. This bike is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and is available for inspection if desired. Due to the bike being nearly 35 years old, I will not be able to offer any warranty. I will also answer any questions to the best of my knowledge if there are any, and be glad to send additional photos, but please do not wait until the last hours of the auction to do so, as I might not be available to reply. Feel free to bid on this item, but please read the following before bidding. Do not take any of these requests personal. I am serious about selling this item, so please be serious about bidding on it. If you can’t follow through with these requests, please do not bid on this item. After the end of the auction, I will need a $500.00 non-refundable down payment within 48 hours. The remaining balance will need to be taken care of in 10 days after the auction via certified funds. If paypal is used for the remaining balance, the buyer will be responsible for any fees incurred on the sellers end. If you will be picking up the bike in person, I will gladly accept cash when you arrive, but don’t plan on any dickering on the final price (actually had this happen once). I can store it for a short time, but due to the lack of room on my end, please be prepared to pick it up within 15 days. If you plan on having the bike shipped, it will be your responsibility to make all of the arrangements. I will assist in the shipping process any way possible, but will need to be compensated for any time or resources spent. International buyers are welcome to bid on this item, but please contact me and have tentative shipping and payment arrangements in place before you bid. The bike cannot be delivered until all funds have cleared. I have a clear South Dakota title for this bike in my possession, and will provide a bill of sale to the new owner. I know this is a lot of stipulations for paying for and shipping this item, but I have had buyers that want to use almost impossible or dangerous payment or shipping methods in the past. Thank you for understanding. Thanks for taking the time to look at this item, good bidding, and good luck.
