Vehicle Detail
Up for Auction is a Rare 1962 Chrysler Newport 2 Door Hardtop. The Closest Thing to Owning the BATMOBILE! These Cars had the Coolest Head Lights and Grills, Often used in Full Customs of the Sixties! Sits Low and Looks Cool! This Ride gets tons of Attention! Lots of Stares and Thumbs Up!! This Ride is ready to cruise the Rat Rod Shows, Kustom Kulture, Hot Rod-A-Rama, and Billet Proof Shows! All Running Gear and Suspension has been updated! It has a Chrysler Cordoba Front Clip or Suspension. It has A Z'd Frame to get it Super Low! It has a Fully Adjustable Torsion Bar Front Suspension so you can crank it down as low as you want. I got this years ago, and all fabrication work was done by someone else. I just can't keep it because I have too many vehicles. Here is what it has.. Engine, Transmission and Rear end Is all from a 1970's Plymouth Fury. The Owner of the Plymouth Fury Claimed that he had the engine and transmission rebuilt. It could use some valve cover gaskets. 383 V8. 727 Automatic. 2 Barrel Carb. Heavy Duty Dual Electric Fan (Comes on With Key). Power steering. Power Disc Brakes. Steering Column from a 1966 Dodge Coronet. Leather Split Bench / Bucket Seats From a Chrysler 300 (of about the same year). Factory Push Button Automatic on Dash not Hooked up. It has a Floor Shifter and Cut Down Console From a 1966 Dodge Coronet. Stock Steel Wheels with 1957 Dodge Lancer Hub Caps and Skinny White Walls. Custom 1939 Ford, Blue Dot,Tear Drop Tail Lights. Needs a little Body work around the right one, Starting to crack. Dual exhaust out the back with chrome tips. Comes with an Extra Gas Tank and Inside Headliner Trim (see Pics). The engine Runs Good! It doesn't smoke or knock. The engine has solid motor mounts so it has a bit of a vibration to it. The engine sits kind of high in the front and I was going to fix it but never did. I notice a vibration on acceleration and deceleration. The Carb. is Close to the hood so it has no air cleaner. It might need a cool scoop put on it! No major oil leaks. It has a rebuilt 2 barrel carb. The transmission shifts good. It drives good. It steers okay, but the steering Shaft is kind of crude. With the Frame being "Z"d it puts the steering column and box at weird angles. I was always going to Redo it with a Borgeson or Flaming river type joints. Power Brakes work good too. The Interior has been fabric dyed black in spots. The dash pad has been dyed and has a couple of cracks in it. The door and rear panels are covered in Black Velvet and need to be re-glued in places. Package Tray Is done in black velvet too. Front seats have seat covers over the Red Leather 300 Seats. The back seat has some rips and is getting pretty brittle from age. Black carpeting isn't perfect, but works. Headliner has Been Re-done in a Black Fabric Material. Comes with the Factory Sunvisors (Not Installed) They need to be Re-Upholstered. It also has an after market Gasser Type, Black, Moon Style Steering wheel. Head lights, (High and Low Beam),Tail Lights, Turn signals, Parking Lights, Brake Lights all work fine. Heater works good.Fan works but is noisy. Wipers work. Horn and Factory Radio not working or hooked up. Oil gauge not working or hooked up. It has a dent in the bottom of the gas tank, and it comes with another gas tank. It has 195-75-14 White Wall Radials With good tread. It is Basically Straight. It has a small dent in the drivers door (See Pic). The paint is Flat Black that has faded to a light gray. It has a Rattle Can Gold Top. All Chrome Trim is in Good Shape! No major rust out. It does have a few bubbles here and there. The Trunk Lid is probably the worst, It has rust out on the Underneath Side and lots of bubbling coming through the out side (See Pics). The Lip inside trunk area is rusted away. It looks like there has been a patch panel installed in the trunk floor. Windshield is getting foggy around the edges and has a ding in it. No cracks. All glass is good and side windows all roll up and down. It is missing one inside window crank handle. I have been driving it back and forth to work and it hasn't given me any problems.
