You are bidding on 2 1987 Mercedes Benz 300 SDL 4door cars. The cars are almost identical mechanically and one could be used for a parts car, or both could be fixed up. These cars do not currently run. Both were in good running condition mechanically until electrical problems seemed to disable them. The black car's motor runs smoother, but has gone through 2 alternators since we purchased the vehicle 3 years ago. Since then we have stopped trying, as automotive electrical work is beyond me. The white car ran fine (motor was not as smooth as the other) until the glow plugs stopped working in the winter, and we have not been able to start it without starting fluid since (I did drive it over 200 miles after getting it started and it made the trip fine). If you know how to work on these cars, or know a mechanic who is familiar with Mercedes, this is a steal for this price. Both cars were in great condition and got really good fuel efficiency before the electrical problems. If you want a good project to create one good car, this would be ideal, as all of the mechanical parts you would need are there in the other car (same year and model). We are simply in over our heads with no Mercedes mechanic near us to help and will be better to lose out on the money we paid for them and get something cheaper that we can have serviced near us.
