1963 Volkswagen Bus - Sundial Camper. This is a unique and original 1963 VW Sundial Camper. It has just had a complete tuneup - including new points, plugs, a completely new carburetor, ignition switch, and throttle cable. In addition, each cylinder was tested to determine if the engine needed to be rebuilt. All four cylinders are in an acceptable range. The Bus runs, drives, and stops, but it still needs additional work on the electrical system. The interior of the Camper is very complete. It has the table, bed, and cabinets, but is missing the Icebox. It has the "walk through" front seats and the rear seats are in place. The canopy roof attachment is in place, but there is no canvas canopy. The floors and jack points are not rusted through and the front nose of the Bus is in good shape. The negative issues are as follows: 1. The Bus has been sitting for several years and needs to be restored. It needs a deep cleaning and the interior needs attention. The front seats are tattered and need to be recovered. 2. The rocker panels are rusty and need to be replaced. The parts are readily available and the rust issues do not appear to be serious. 3. One of the side doors opening into the camper is struck. 4. The rear wheel wells have been enlarged for bigger tires. The original wheel wells need to be installed. 5. The bumpers are missing, but are readily available. 6. There are several other minor issues that need to be addressed, but over all this is an excellent old Sundial Bus to restore and use. The brackets hold gas cans for extra gas that might be needed on a long trip into the countryside.
