The previous owner - a notable NYC author - had her from 1992-2007. In total, the bike has belonged to four people in 41 years, and three of them for 38 of those. She's always been garaged and care for well. I'm selling her because I have another bike and she deserves to be enjoyed more. The bike lived most of its life in California. She runs great, handles great, and is a perfect commuting bike. You get lots of stares riding her in NYC - it's fun! In 2003, the whole engine was rebuilt by John's Cycles, an old school Triumph shop in Queens. Steve at Clark's Machine Works in Uniondale remachined the bottom end, and John replaced the pistons and rings, rebuilt the valves, etc. The bike was as mint as ever. The bike has been ridden less than 500 miles since so the rings and top end are still new, and barely worn in. Other new parts include adjustable rear shocks, front shocks and gaiters, and a center stand. New tires, brakes, rubber, and tuning fork were installed last year. Carb and manifold are not original (Daytonas had twin carbs). I'm also including a pristine replacement set of mufflers, which I bought at the amazing (and missed) Magri Motors in San Francisco, since the current pair are a bit scratched. (I've never bothered putting them on, but you can.) The bike is sporting an original 1969 NY state license motorcycle plate that is registered to the bike as a historic vehicle (see photos). This is a loved bike, in excellent condition, and I am very sorry to see her go. I have a truck and can deliver within 50 miles of Manhattan. This needs to be a cash deal.
