The car is in good driving condition. The 3.8 liter strait six idles well and provides plenty of power and with full independent suspension and four wheel disk brakes this car is capable of being driven quite briskly. There is a slight rattle from the timing chains at idle, I do not know if this is because they are out of adjustment or if the chains need to be replaced, either way I have new timing chains and they will be included with the car. The four speed manual shifts clean and tight. The ride in this car is nice and smooth much like a modern car and it is rather comfortable to drive, especially since you have no problems keeping up with traffic. The steering is heavy at low speeds but is quick and responsive at speed due to a recent alignment and replacement of various bushings on the front end. Also there was a new stainless steel exhaust from the headers back put into the car recently. The interior is typical of a Jaguar of the time, full of leather and wood. Upon entering the car you are greeted with the rich smell of worn leather, however this means the 44 year old upholstery is definitely showing its age and likely needs to be replaced. Wooden dash, trim and accents were recently refinished and look pretty good. There is a  Phillips AM/Shortwave radio in the car but I do not know if it is original or not. There are other little quirks to the interior, like a map tray, cigar trays and fold out armrests.  The body is in need of a respray and some body work there was a previous poor color match on the front right door and fender that should be visible in the photos.  There is little rust due to the fact the car has spent most of the last 20 years in dry New Mexico air. Overall this car is a good driver and  a good candidate for a complete restoration. A little history on this car, as far as I can work out the car was purchased in Geneva Switzerland by the second Owner in 1967 and shipped stateside in 1974. I have a copy of the Swiss title and the original shipping receipts. The car then spent the remainder of its time in New Mexico until the last few years. The previous owner had inherited/bought the car from the second owner and held on to for a few years before selling the car to me a year and a half ago. As I said before I have a copy of the Swiss title and the original shipping receipts I have a copy of the Swiss title and the original shipping receipts, along with some of the service records. Also included with the car is the original operating and service handbook, a detailed Jaguar shop service manual (with guides and procedures on maintenance and repair on every system/part on the car), and a XKs Unlimited parts catalog through which most of the parts were sourced. The car is being sold as is without warranty of any kind either expressed or implied.  I assume no responsibility for any repairs after transfer of the car to the buyer. There will be a $500 non refundable deposit via pay-pal due 24 hours after the end of the auction and the remainder of the balance is due in certified funds 7 days after the end of the auction.
