Vehicle Detail

This car is a survivor! Yes, the mileage listed is actual, and in fact is around 8,000 miles more than that due to a faulty speedometer replaced in its first year. It still runs great, gets full boost out of the turbo, burns no oil, and is just plain FUN to drive. These old 8-valve turbos are becoming pretty uncommon - if you have one, you already know that! A little history - the first owner of the car put a little over 300,000 miles on it, and was a stickler for maintenance (I have all the records going back to new). He was starting to have some problems he didn't want to deal with on a car this old, and sold it to me about 4 years ago. I put a new head gasket on it, replaced the leaky axle seals, ball joints and shocks, did some electrical work, and have used it as a second car ever since. Unfortunately, I didn't replace the axle seals soon enough - I unknowingly ran the tranny out of oil and damaged fifth gear - it now whines. (I'm told fifth gear is physically the highest in the transmission, and gets starved for oil first) All the other gears seem fine - it shifts smoothly and I've been driving it with no problems for years. I just don't take it on extended highway trips. There is some rust on the front driver's side wheelwell. The front seats aren't great, although they are intact and still very comfortable. Original freon air conditioner works and blows cool, but not cold air. (It started getting a little anemic last year, and needs a charge now) Cassette player is worn out, but the radio works fine. The car just ran out of registration, and I haven't had it inspected. It will need at least a tire and a new muffler. Also, it doesn't look all that great - the clear coat is peeling off of all the horizontal surfaces. This would be a good around-town car, a good winter beater, or a good car to teach your teenager how to drive a stick shift! It would even be a good parts car, should you so desire. Unless you have a brother-in-law in the trucking business, please check shipping before you bid! These older cars can often cost more to ship than they cost to buy! Could you drive it home? I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere, but I wouldn't take it on the Interstate. 55 MPH in fourth gear would be just fine. You may pay for it with PayPal, or send me a cashiers or personal check (I won't release the car until the check clears)
