This car was originally from California so the body is in very good structural condition with only a small amount of surface rust where the yellow paint has flaked off. There are a few minor dents and some slight damage to the rear end that was poorly filled and painted over. There is a fairly good coat of gray primer with a bad coat of yellow and red primer on top of that, seemingly to stop rust. Other than the body, there are two of almost everything else including two rib-case transmissions and two engines – a 948 and a 1275. One set of front and one set of rear suspension components have been rebuilt and are ready to go. The front has been converted to disc brakes and the hubs are installed for knock-off wheels. The four wire wheels have been powder-coated and have tires mounted on them. The instruments do not appear to be economically feasible for use, but there is a solid walnut dash included which really looks nice. The body has been on a trailer under a carport and is fairing quite well. All the component parts have been stored in an 8 x 12, enclosed, two axle trailer that I used when we moved the car to NC. The trailer, with electric brakes, clearance lights, spare wheel and tire and fold-down rear ramp, is also for sale. This would have been my eighth restoration and my third bug-eye, but, I regret to say, my age has caught up with me so I have decided to let someone else have the fun of this one. Don't let this project intimidte you. Paint and engine should be sub-contracted out and the rest of it is as simple as a Revell kit. Any missing parts are readily available and there is quite a bit of money to be made selling the parts you don't use. Go for it!
