Vehicle Detail
All good things come to an end...or do they? That's up to you! This car was my sons. He ran into the back of a Ford Bronco. The damage is considerable yet it still starts and moves. If you're a body guy it may have a chance, but I'm not able to make the call. It wasn't officially "totaled" because there was no insurance claim on it, therefore no actual appraisal of the damage has been done. It was towed to my house after the accident, he doesn't have the money to fix it and I want it gone. Before the accident it was actually a decent car for the most part. The transmission was professionally re-built not too many miles ago. He's still digging around to find the reciept but says it was around $3000.00 for it to be done. The interior is fairly nice. There's all kinds of good parts but I'm not getting involved in a piece here and a piece there. It will have to be towed or dollied. The front took all the damage. The grill, bumper, radiator, tranny cooler, lights, hood and tips of the fenders and surrounding area is all damaged. The windshield is cracked but it wasn't from the front end damage it happened from the airbags...something I was never aware could happen. The bumper and front end area has mechanics wire holding the loose stuff up so that it wouldn't drag while going up on the flatbed. I used a come along chained to the rear of my pick-up truck to pull things forward from the motor trying to just get things close to where they used to be in order to wire the stuff up.The cross members, radiator mount and all that stuff is damaged, I just didn't want to undo everything for the pictures, so rest assured it is worse under the bra than the photos suggest. There was Metal Cancer discovered in the spare tire compartment during the emptying out process but again...nothing that a real body guy couldn't take care of in a day. The doors, interior, trunk, glass (except the windshield) tranny, motor, wheels should all be good. The book value on it before the accident was around $3700.00 ~ $4200.00 . I've looked around at what the used motors (with reasonbly low miles and can be heard running) are going for as well as the trannys and in that area is where I put the starting bid at. Basically, getting the rest of the car for free. Someone could make quite a bit of $$$ selling the parts or have a decent car that holds a fairly good value for cheap if you do that kind of work. Anyway...it is what it is, so you're buying it as-is,where-is...the transaction is final....but remember clear title means at least you have options. Thanks for checking this auction out and if you have any questions, just ask and I'll do the best I can to answer.
