Vehicle Detail
This has to be one of the few remaining all original Chevettes in excellent condition for its age. I bought it exactly a year ago for my 16 year-old daughter. Turns out she's not as fond of '8o's econo-boxes as I am. (And she can't handle the manual steering.) I was going to keep it and restore it to show condition (won't take much) but I already have four project vehicles and a tractor I'm restoring. The paint is original and the car was at one point garaged for 14 years. Looks like it was covered as it has some wear spots on the corners. There are, of course, more than a few paint chips and it could probably use a repaint. Although, if someone wanted to keep it original, it could be compounded and touched up with roughly 95% original paint remaining. The belt molding was coming off so I started to put it all back on but decided to leave it as is, pending paint. The windshield was cracked and I replaced it with a new one. The engine is all original and the A/C is ice cold. I replaced a few cracked rubber vacuum tees and the fuel pump. It's a little cold natured, but you just have to pump it a few times (remember those days?) and it'll start right up. It has the radio delete option so there's no antenna. I pulled the wheels to inspect the brakes and...much to my surprise...the rear drums have never been removed! It still has the Tinnerman nuts used to hold the drums on as the vehicle came down the assembly line. I left those intact. The interior is amazing, just short of immaculate, for it's age. The carpet fits rather loosely (may have been the standard back then) and could use steaming. This is my first time to sell a vehicle so please, by all means, email or call me (830-305-4099) if you have any questions. I'm active duty military and honest as the day is long. Thank you for your interest.
