1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III 2-dr hardtop 460 V8 (365 hp) Pastel yellow exterior / black fabric top / black leather upholstery 114K+ miles original blue 70s license plates (back plate in excellent condition). Features include (but are not limited to): power: seats, windows, door locks, antenna. automatic temperature control tilt wheel and "rimblow" steering wheel stock AM/FM stereo radio power brakes: front disc / rear drum Dual exhaust working Cartier clock cruise control automatic parking brake release padded dash Just a sampling: Lincoln certainly didn't skimp on the bells or whistles on this vehicle! My friend bought this car a year ago with the intention of completely restoring it, he put in several thousand of dollars already, but now realizes he cannot finish the job. Hopefully the next person will finish what he started. I am listing this for him, but have first hand knowledge of this vehicle. Here's what he's done: Transmission completely rebuilt new carburetor new steering box new master cylinder new power steering pump and hoses driver's side power window motor replaced driver's seat reupholstered new washer tank and pump replaced spark plugs / cap, rotor, etc. misc. filters, etc. Car runs well and can be driven anywhere. Tracks nice and straight. Steers and stops fine. Idles, accelerates and shifts smoothly. The chrome isn't perfect, but it's not bad, either. Body and chrome straight, no dings or dents. A few minor scratches. Engine doesn't smoke. Now for the issues: While the paint is generally in excellent condition, there is a little rust on the driver's side quarter panel, very small area on base of both doors and trunk, and a fist-sized spot at the lower-left corner of back glass (see picture). This car is spent most of its time in Oceanside, CA. Fabric top is becoming frayed and needs replaced. Speedometer is inoperative: shows 113K miles (previous owner, who had recently bought it from the original owner in Oceanside, told me the speedometer was "intermittent", so who knows how long ago it really stopped working. he's only driven the car a couple hundred miles in the year he had it.) Power seat motor needs rebuilt (or maybe just the track cleaned.) Passenger power window now inoperative (bad switch?). Power antenna barely works but needs rebuilding (or at least gears cleaned) to operate smoothly. Driver's side mirror is loose, and not original for 1970 (think it's a '69). Steering column "knuckle" needs rebuilt, as the steering wheel feels a bit loose. We've been told this is common. You get used to it... Rimblow ring has come off the steering wheel. he still has it. Door panels, padded dash, and driver's seats are in excellent shape, but the carpet could use a good shampooing, and the passenger and back seats need their inserts replaced. Windshield has a scrape from the wipers (from before he had it) A/C doesn't work. Belt had been removed before he got it. Rear window defogger motor stopped working. Extra stuff Included: Shop manuals, good quality car cover, set of four new original-style speakers. He also bought a set of trunk letters as the existing ones have fallen off, but he hadn't gotten around to installing them. All in all, a great project for someone who appreciates these beautiful cars. Feel free to ask anything -- its priced to sell quickly. His loss is your gain.
