This listing is for a beautiful 1981 Mercedes Benz 380SL. The car has recently ( about 3 years ago) had its engine renewed (new cylinders and bolts). The car currently shows 143020 miles registered, but the odometer has not been working for the last few months. The AC in the car works but is currently unplugged due to drainage of the battery. (Which also seems to be tied in with the odometer problem) Also, the locking mechanism of the car is currently not fully functioning. The passenger door has to be unlocked from the inside and locked individually. Nevertheless when checked, it seemed to be a minor problem and the fix should be minimal. The car was always driven with absolute care through its entire ownership. It used to have a few oil leaks, all of which have recently gotten repaired. The exterior of the car is very good without any dents, but it does have some paint chips. The car also had a basic paint job done about a year ago, to the trunk and the front, and the color matched about 90%. The interior is in OK shape but could use some repairs.The sun visors are semi-broken and are being held by a small hook. The dash of the car also has a few cracks. The hardcover has always been installed and I have never took it off but the softcover is indeed available for convertible use. The car is registered under Foresthill, Placer County CA and passes smog check fine over there. Nevertheless the car is currently located at San Bruno, CA for pick up.
