Vehicle Detail
The story here is, I bought this car about ten years ago and loved owning it. It's unique, fast, turns heads and proudly wears the "star". About three years I wanted to sell it but my daughter wanted it and refused to let me sell it. She gave me her 190E and I gave her my SEC. Recently, she got engaged and is planning a big (expensive) wedding and needs cash more than she needs a classic Mercedes. Plus she has a company car and hardly ever drives it. This is a nice car. It runs good, looks good and will make a great project for someone who wants a classic 560SEC to restore or just a unique daily driver that will go 0 - 60 in in seven seconds, 92MPH in a quarter mile and top out at 145MPH. The engine is strong, transmission is good, air blows cold, tires are 90% and it is 100% original. The wheels are aftermarket but I have the originals in storage and they are yours for the cost of shipping if you want them. A nice feature we added is a remote controlled battery disconnect. You can disconnect the battery with the remote so no one can start the car even if they have a key. It also monitors the battery voltage and if you leave a light on or the battery voltage starts to drop, it will disconnect the battery automatically while there is still enough power to start the car. Also included are a couple original Road & Track Magazine articles and yes you get to keep that way cool front european licence plate. Like any car that is 20 years old, there is no warranty and a few items need attention, There are parking lot dings on the front hood, faded paint and a small aera of corrosion on the rear deck lid, a few dings and scratches and the power antenna is not working, a scratch (no cracks) on the windshield. Sunroof opens and closes but wont go into the "vent" position. Other than that, it runs strong, does not smoke, shifts properly and is a reliable car. My daughter spent over $2,500.00 just last year for a transmission replacement. The BIN is just a few bucks over that. I would trust this car to take you anywhere you want to go and if you decide to fly in and drive it home, my daughter can pick you up in St Louis, MO or Springfield, IL $100.00 non refundable deposit at auction end via PayPal and Cash or cashiers check when you pick it up. If you e-mail with questions, I will forward to my daughter for response. It would be quicker if you just called her direct at (217) 710-0556
