THE PERFECT COMBINATION. great looks,fuel efficient, a jawdropper, everyday driver, track terror, sporty, economical, reliable, easy and inexpensive to maintain. has a steady diet of eating porsches, try to find another car that fits all these catagories as well. this 1991 toyota mr2 recieved the complete turbo conversion, with a low mileage jdm replacement engine and management system. before installation, a metal head gasket and hardened head studs were fitted, as well as increasing the size of the internals on a stock ct26 turbocharger. this gives it bulletproof reliability, and upgrades the performance...........and perform she does. straight down pipe will shoot a flame out the back aft full boost (no cat converter). runs strong, set up to be safe (rich after full boost), and you'd never guess it has 178000 miles on it. lowered suspension with tokico springs and racing struts. front shock tower strut bar and factory rear x-bar for the rear struts. left side tom's intake scoop (right side panel included but removed for picture), removeable moonroof, so it is lighter and stronger than a t-top car. if you decide to run the car on a track, they consider a t-top car needing to adhere to convertible safety rules (a pain), but the moonroof the car is run as a coupe. i'm not much of a driver, but i always wanted to be safe.....so i had a full autopower roll cage installed, then modified it for ease of street use. i had the front down tubes run thru the a/c vents for more interior room, and made removeable / detachable side bars made (see the difference from one side interior shot to the other). install the side bars if you want to go racing, or remove them for ez enterance and egress for everyday use. it works pretty slick. staggered alloy wheels ( 16" in front 17" in rear), it give the car a good stance and nice balance. this car goes and handles. so if you're faint of heart don't even get into this thing. dual 5 point racing harnesses, padding on the roll bar where it needs to be. new air flow meter, doing a conversion on this car leaves the original front brakes, which are cool because they make ebc green stuff pads (my personal favourite) for this set up and not for the non-converted cars. roll cage mounted air flow meter and boost gauge. there is also a shift light, but i didn't care much for it, and had it disconnected. am/fm cassette stereo with a amplifier, removeable face plate. dash modified for roll cage. most of the paint on the car is original. the bumpers have been painted. small dent on right front of hood, and paint flaking where clearance was needed for the large rear tires, but it is minor. also a small indent along the right side which doesn't even show up on the pictures, but at least i want you to know it is there. an amazingly preserved car. not babied, but used and maintained. drivers seat bolster has wear but the rest is nice. a/c components removed, but included. stainless exhaust tip. recent rebuilt transmission and stage 3 clutch. . HI INTENSITY BLUE HEADLIGHT BULBS. too many extras to list and just too much fun to have on the street. always a southern california car so there is/was no rust anywhere. this is thee a poor man's ferrari.
